Our shower is a similar size to yours. About 5 ft long and 4 ft wide. The bench spans the short wall and is 1 ft deep. Its about 18" from the floor. I plan to use it for shaving, bottles, etc. I will rest my foot on it for now, but I've heard sitting while shaving when pregnant is a must. If you picture the rectangle of our shower laying with 5 ft along the top and bottom and 4 ft sides going up and down on the left and right...our shower door is in the bottom left corner with the water controls to the right and then the bench is along the far right. The rain shower is in the center of the shower, but the handshower is mounted directly to the right of the door (between the door and the bench). HTH.

It's OK to ask a kitchen question here. I never put a sink or a stove in a counter with seating at the same level; I find it unpleasant to face these appliances without any protection. A higher counter for sitting can be very effective if it is detailed well. I have attached a photo of a very impressive architect designed kitchen that I visited to see a contractor's work. The counter is matte finished granite.

For a half-wall cap piece that will support glass, I want the cap flat where the glass will bear upon it. In your case where one side is wet, I'll bevel that side. If the cap is 6" wide, about half the width, or about 3", will be beveled. Shaving it down about 1/8" over those 3" gives an effective pitch of 1/2" per foot of run. Plenty enough for drainage. This drawing is intended for door thresholds, but the profile is roughly the same. If your cap was 6" wide and 1" thick and you wanted the glass roughly centered on the cap, I'd start the bevel about 2-3/4" from one edge and take it down so the beveled edge is 7/8" thick.

"have your tiles been grouted yet it doesn't look it." That area would not get grout, it would be caulked. Joseph's idea would be the way to solve this issue at this point.
