Comments (9)The seed you can get at most nurseries, and even at Wal-Mart, works great for those whom the lawn is not their pride and joy. Do a search on "lawncare showcase" and you'll see some lawns that will knock your socks off. That one website has a slideshow that changes every few seconds. Just wait for it. If your lawn is your hobby, then you need to spend a little more money up front to make it really nice down the road. In the end you'll end up paying more for the weed control than you would have for the high quality seed. You will kick yourself for the extra hassle you caused, too. As Gary said, the really aggressive weed seeds are the size and weight of dust. When you get a few of those in your mix, you will eventually have that grass for your lawn. I did not see any bent in your lawn, so you may have gotten away with it. However, you do have some coarse bladed grass in the mix, so you have your chores cut out for you....See MoreWe don't 'need' detergent?
Comments (19)Guilty!!! I am one of those people who probably put too much detergent in. I am having trouble finding a happy medium. I put less, then water in wash does not feel like there is any in there, and no suds at all,and clothes do not smell as clean, so next time i add more, see few suds, but clothes feel stiff and coated. It is hard to tell if i use enough when you open the washer and see maybe 1 1/2 cups of water. When i did towels, there was no little pool of water but towels were soaked. I have pretty soft water, and have tide, borax, clorox 2, purex, liquid tide, liquid tide with bleach. used all of them, still not there yet....See MoreI don't love stepson
Comments (3)I don't think you are ridiculous either. Those are reasonable expectations. The problem is that the parents do not have the same expectations. My advice: Do not have children with the father of this boy. You are getting a firsthand lesson in his parenting style & it greatly conflicts yours.... As for how to not get so pissed and annoyed... well, being pissed at a kid that is doing what his parents have given the great big nod to do... well, he's not going to want to hear your rules.. he likes the ones his parents laid out. He lives with mom, visits dad. If it were me, I might take a class or find a hobby to keep me occupied during the time he is there... leave him to spend his time with his dad. You don't have to have a relationship with him, or have anything in common. If you can let it go so you are not in a bad mood every time he comes over, that would be best for you. As for your husband and his ex, they are the ones that will pay the price if they don't give their child guidance or boundaries. You aren't going to change the boy, so the chances of you having a relationship with him are not good, unless you can forget all the irritating things his parents allow him to do that you disagree with....See MoreLetting things go -- nice things I just don't need anymore.
Comments (54)My husband gave me a beautiful string of pearls with a saphire clasp for christmas last year...guess I'm old lady :) But then my newest piece of jewelry is probably 1950 with most of it being 1880's...so perhaps I"m just an old lady at heart :) I love jewelry with history. Sell it and enjoy the vacation...and know that the person who buys it is probably someone like me who will cherish it as much as the original family member of yours did. As to purging...well frankly, I like stuff :oP I love all the stuff ya'll donate to charity because I haunt the goodwill and habitat store looking for it. I use it daily and it makes me feel good. But that said...I rather enjoy purging too, but perhaps that's linked to the fact that I bought a huge house full of someone elses "stuff". I happily donate items to habitat. I like the tax deduction, and I love the feeling of doing something positive for a charity I support. I also do put things outside with a "free" sign (because I think it's cute how people will take ANYTHING!...no one does that in Alaska) but most of those are children's things (which must be taken during school hours so DS does not see it LOL). That reminds me...I have a slide for free to put out tomorrow when he's napping LOL My one hoarded...hang on, I don't know, thing is my son's cloths and cloths I purchased for a set of twins we lost. I thought we were going to adopt or have another child and now that we've give up on that I have to open the boxes. I have literally dozens of large boxes full of lovely cloths, regular stuff, and brand new things for the babies we expected. I know I have to get to that stuff...it takes up a huge amount of space, both physically and emotionally, but I haven't quite gotten into the zone to be able to do that one. Maybe we should make a pledge...those of us who have some purging to do...I'm peronally going to get through those cloths and give them to someone who needs them within the first quarter of 2011. Jak...maybe you should empty the barn by then LOL Ok that's probably asking too much heh heh...See Moreold_dirt 6a
