You should have stayed a match

Now a cold you'll surely catch!

Behold! Here's a sock in the wild.

Left behind by some under-clothed child.

One foot must be bare,

though perhaps they don't care?

Since the weather is growing so mild.

Do lost socks find a home

'Though covered in loam?

But once washed and aired

And tidily paired

At last there is no need to roam.

Such talented ladies !

I discover these " lost soles" while on my daily walks. This latest stray was in the parking lot of the high school. I encourage one and all to add photos of any that you come upon !

Of course if you find some lost knickers,

That would be worth double snickers !

I was wide awake, having a restless night and went online to check out posts.

My sleeping patterns are all over the place at present. This palsy makes me take sudden naps during the day caused by a massive energy drop.

Poor Bertha had knickers so frilly

They caused her to feel rather silly

They will find a Laundrette

Then pass on to a thrift shop or two.

I've been listening to a bedtime reading via the BBC of Bridget Jones Diary. I think the above pic would fit her requirements.

On Mother's Day I took a walk and came upon this in the high school parking lot.

( clearly these kids are having more fun than I ever did at that age !! )

Your owner is missing, her mind is unsound

I had my own "Person from Porlock" moment in the middle of composing the above poem!

The Man Who Changes the Smoke Alarm Battery interrupted me but luckily I had scribbled first thoughts on the back of an envelope, inspired by the nursery rhyme.

Such udder depravement !

Our planet is with danger fraught

And so recycling we are taught.

Reusing cups when drinking "Joe"

Is one way helping fight the foe.
