Comments (35)@katinparadise the paint is finally complete! So below is the paint finish, but I still need a new door and lights. To be totally honest, I feel the body is a bit too light and the trim is way too white. I feel it should be somewhat creamier. But anything is better than what I had before. I’m thinking if I should have the trim repainted to not look so stark white... As for the door, I’m leaning on a steel foot that looks like wood. My painter suggests not getting anything dark as he says “will look like a big square dark thing”. What do you think? The carriage look is nice; not sure if I can pull it off since it’s wide for two cars. And I just went shopping for the light.... I think I’ll have a better idea once I install the door. thoughts?...See MoreExterior color dilemma - need opinions
Comments (10)There are some great comments and pictures posted here, thanks so much my fine people. And I really appreciate the mock-ups groveraxle. :) This exterior has become quite stressful to me. So much more comfortable with interiors. I have some things to go with here but in the end I'll probably just bite the bullet and hire a designer...lol....See More1970s House Exterior Paint Dilemma

I find the resulting play of light and shadow very attractive, but I think it is too busy if it is given additional complexity with a mix of colors, or contrasting trim. A greige color would look very good. You will have a very different (better) look than if you had a flat-style house painted all the same color, which would be boring....See MoreAmy Gohl
