Is 23 " wide upper cabinet door too wide?
Comments (9)Don't do a 23" door. My 24" uppers have single doors, and at 21" wide, they are one of the things I can't wait to replace! They're very much in my face when opening and closing them, so awkward to use. I'd go for the piano hinge style. : )...See MoreBig Space on upper cabinet between doors. Please help
Comments (3)PCJS, I love the basket idea. I am going to see what kind of baskets would work. I am also looking for shelving. ErikaNH, Thank you. You are right I feel rushed. I need to take a big breath, have a cup of decaf and enjoy the process not the finished product. I think because two of my slab choices were sold when I should have tagged them. I feel worried. I did not bring Jet Mist home yet to abuse. Good idea. I already know it shows smudges and is not as squeaky clean looking as a polished stone but it does give that Soapstone appearance. Wish I could convince my hubbie to do Soapstone but he refuses. The Honed Jet mist is a strong stone and my fabircator/installer assures me I will be pleased if I do not mind the fingers marks and smudges that come with non polished stones. My hubbie wanted to do a leathered finished New Atlantic black. It looked so PLASTIC or PLEATHER that I had to hold him back. He thought it would be unique. He has super taste but this was scary. Thanks again. I need to move slow and let it happen not make it happen....See More24x42 glass door upper cabinets - 1 door or 2 doors?
Comments (13)I think it also depends on what else you have in your kitchen; especially on what will be in the immediate vision of your glass cabs. In my case the 24" glass cab is beside 3 21" single doors, so going with the 24" single glass (frameless) door was a no brainer in my case. Double doors would have looked ridiculous in that space, especially as I wanted mullions to match the glass lowers on our range wall. I also reasoned that the double doors would have blocked out a lot of what to display (it would have left only two smallish pieces of glass with a wider center area of door trim). I guess that's a long-winded way of saying that I think either a single door or double doors could look good in context of what else you have going on around it. Pics of my 24" glass cab (it's only 30" high, but it should give you a worst-case idea since your 42" cab would look sleeker):...See MoreAre 27" wide upper cabinets too narrow for my kitchen ?
Comments (2)I don't like narrow single cabinets. I much prefer a 36" double cabinet. You should have room for such - my own kitchen is 11x15....See MoreRelated Professionals
