Stain our Trex decking? What color?

We really don’t like the red tone of our Trex deck (lots of scratches/some warped boards too) and are thinking of staining it grey. Any thoughts? Would love to remove the whole thing and add a new deck but not sure we want to invest that much in our started home.

I like the modern look of dark grey/charcoal. Thoughts?

it depends on what side of the house. A dark deck on the south or west side will get direct sunlight and HEAT UP, stay away from dark colors.

if you are north facing, dark may be suitable.

Staining over trex? I doubt it will be a good finish. as the manufacturer for thoughts.

I would check with Trex re: possibility of staining the decking - can't imagine it would work.

Any of the softer composites will take outdoor finish pretty easy. I have used twp 116 on choice decking with long lasting results. Most of this material stains up with normal spills/bird gifts/tree dropings/mold/mildew anyway puting a finish on makes a weak point a strong one. A lot of the finish Co make composite sealer this is not a new idea. trex/junk natural state is to be covered with mold so you might want to clean it up real good before trying a finish in a small area first.
