I think the flower buds will be susceptible to your night temps. of 20 degrees. I wouldn't plant them outside until night temps. get up above freezing. Bloom may be done by then. To slow it down they can be outside during the day since temps. are in the high 30s & 40s. Warm indoor temps. will bring on the bloom faster. You've bought in essense 'forced bubs'. They are out of cycle for your area. They are meant to be enjoyed indoors and either tossed or replanted when temperatures are, a guess here, above freezing. Most muscari and crocus are hardy down to zone 3. They'll get back on schedule with Mother Nature for next year.

If sunk in the ground completely, and planted (in the pots) at recommended depths, they should be as insulated as the ones planted in the ground.

@Artist-FKA-Novice Zone 7B GA How are the dahlias doing now? I have read so many different depths for planting. Some say the crown (where all the tubers come together and attach to the stem) should be four inches deep, some say one inch deep. I have also read about people in colder zones who overwinter them by planting the crown 6 inches deep, giving them a lot of soil on top to protect from freezing temps (apparently with this method you can reliably overwinter them in zone 6). I don't have enough experience growing them to know what's good. I can imagine, though, that the shallower the depth, the more likely the plant is going to need some kind of support, because it doesn't have much soil around it to hold the stem upright.
