need help choosing floor lamp please.

Suggestions on choosing a floor lamp to compliment this table lamp. I posted 2 options I thought might work. Opinions on these or other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Neither lamp really matches… but it is hard to suggestions without an idea where they are going and what the rest of the layout and decor will be…the main part of the mismatch to me is the profile of the lamp seems big ,while the lamps are skinny…

We found that the Shitake really changed tone depending upon what it was surrounded by. I would suggest painting a large sample board and moving from place to place in your light and against your other materials. I found choosing paint colors the hardest part of building our home. You have to have a large sample and take to the actual place you want to paint it to see the light because it changes depending on where you are.

What ??? If I understand tile is on the main floor and this questio is for the seconf floor where the bedrooms are.I think it will depend on the color of the tile on the lower floor as you will be having the 2 floors meet at the bottom of the stairs. Some pictures would be abig help BTW. Maybe look a vinyl plank and do the stirs in a tile to match the lower floor I awys thin stairs look best done to match the lower level and then the floor cange change at the top of the stairs. We need pictures of the furniture too.

James, a history of your comments shows that you're mostly interested in promoting the replica MCM items sold at Manhattan Home Design. You wouldn't happen to work there or own the store, or be friends or partners (personally or professionally) with someone who is, would you? Also, there have been more than a dozen BBB complaints in the past three years about the store you've been recommending, which I would find problematic if I were looking to buy something there. Also, your recent posts in this thread and others sound very similar to some by Gabriella Robbins and Daniel Blake, who are also promoting MCM replica furniture in general, and the store in particular. Are all of you friends or partners in this venture?

Remotely choosing flooring. Need help to narrow down samples please.

@eam44, yes, we have tile now. The builder has to tear up our floors to repair our foundation. There will not be any tile once they're done with the repair. My daughter has a permanent dent in her forehead from falling from a standing position onto the tile floor. It's tile over a slab. This house has a huge straight staircase that scares me to death. This pic doesn't show how high it is but the house has high ceilings and it's a straight drop down to the tile. I've fallen down steps onto carpet and I've been injured. If my daughter fell down these steps onto the tile, the same tile that left a permanent dent in her head, it could kill her. So I want something more forgiving than tile. I know I could put a rug down but I still prefer a softer surface.

Thank you…I will keep looking.
Table lamp will be on end table on one side of sofa, floor lamp will be on opposite side in a corner. My living room is empty right now, furniture being delivered today.

Another thing to consider is the style/scale of your furniture/decor…usually it is wiser to leave lamps to last …so you have tables…windows ..rugs etc in place

As well as establishing whether you will reading …watching tv..entertaining..how the light will be needed…and I always think dimmers are important for all those activities

Thank you. I will consider all your suggestions. I thought I would post some pictures but unfortunately the delivery was cancelled so I still have an empty living room.
