Jack and Jill Bathroom Update
Comments (14)If you really want to redo the whole area - and you have the budget - I think two separate bathrooms would be a much better use of the square footage. The current arrangement isn't terrible, but both vanity areas seem like sad, dark spaces and the one on the right has a lot of wasted space. Here are some options. I don't know if you're able to move/add windows. The first two options leave your existing window in place. The third and fourth option require moving the existing window. In all options I'm suggesting adding a new window for the second bathroom. Not sure if that is feasible. Option 3 is my favorite, if you can move/add windows....See MoreEasy bathroom updates for green bathroom?
Comments (18)I like the open vanity so that you can see the floor beneath it. It makes the room feel bigger than it is. I would just lighten it up with white paint and a new white countertop. I’d also hang pretty curtains, possibly cafe curtains, so that you have privacy but still have light coming in. I’d hang canvas art above the toilet with an image you love to look at to give the room some of your personality. I’d paint the walls white and use white curtains to bounce the maximum amount of light around the room....See MoreNew Quartzite Counter Color Doesn't Match the Bathroom!- updated

Comments (11)Try bright colors. The navy rug isn't bad at all. Also test out turquoise and different greens. Wallpaper can be a good way to blend pleasing colors into a bathroom with blah tile, and you have so much tile that you can get pretty wild with wallpaper without it being overwhelming. If you decide on wallpaper you can repaint the vanity a crisp white or something from the paper. (Keep the groovy knobs.) The mirror fits the bathroom if you want to keep it "authentic" (which is probably the way to go when keeping tile like this). The light fixture not so much! (Nor the sink...but sinks are more of a hassle to replace than lights.) I'd look for something retro (keep it chrome) and simple sort of like this: https://www.lampsplus.com/products/george-kovacs-saber-20-inch-wide-chrome-bathroom-light__h7689.html How bad is the floor? It looks like it might just need regrouting, but I believe you if you say it needs to go. Trust Palimpsest on floor suggestions....See MoreNancy in Mich
