Help! Trouble identifying existing finish on 90 y/o oak floors

I recently exposed red oak floors in my new bungalow built in 1932, still with finish, in good condition. The floors have likely been covered for 20-40 years. It needs a buff/screen and recoat and I can't for the life of me figure out what finish it has on it.
I have done multiple tests on it and I keep getting conflicting results:
- Water drops beaded up on surface, did not become cloudy after sitting for 5 min.
- No residue came off when rubbed with mineral spirits (besides grime)
- Mineral oil did not absorb into wood
- Denatured alcohol lifted amber residue slightly, did not make sticky, surface
less smooth but still had good luster
- Pale yellow residue when rubbed with a coin, scratched through film-like finish, don't think it was wax, but the finish itself
- Pale yellow dust-like flakes when scratched in an X with a sharp knife
- Can feel grain in both heavily coated and uncoated areas
We've been living in the living room for a month while I renovated upstairs, this is the last thing we need to have a bedroom!
I have photos but I have no idea how to post them, are links allowed?
