Since you can't post a photo, here is my big idea. Google loquat and kumquat, and see if yours resembles those. My other big idea is that if bird pecks are in the ripe fruit, it's probably edible. Suzi

i grew up in a mid 1950 subdivision ... in ground freeze MI ... every house on the street had them .. except for ours ... it was missing by the time we moved in the mid 60's .... i didnt keep track .. but it seems to me.. they didnt start doing the bark thing until the 70's .. or later .. i do remember the city came around with a truck mounted cannon and shot them for anthracnose ... FRANKLY.. they are a pretty park tree ... not really suited to a backyard ... the roots lift cement... the hairy dusty seed pods make a mess for weeks in fall ... and the leaves do not compost well ... sited as in the pic .. i like them... but .. IMHO ... not a backyard tree ken

One of the easiest ways to provide your photo to be embedded into a post is to upload it onto an image hosting site such as Photobucket, Flickr, etc. That should be pretty straight forward, and the individual sites will give instructions on how to get your photos uploaded to their site when you sign up. Once your picture has been uploaded, find its web address by right clicking on the image and copying the image location. Some sites may provide the address in a text box below the photo for your convenience. Let's say the address of the picture you want to post is http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg To embed the picture into a post, use the command img src="http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg"> Note that I had to use special characters to get the command above to show up, but you can use it as shown (with the correct image location, of course).

I love the picture of the native Wisteria! I really love the invasive Wisteria too, but would never plant it. It's pretty but evil. There is a large wisteria vine on a dogwood across the street from me. When we moved in 8 yrs ago it was beautiful in bloom because they bloomed at the same time and there was all the white and purple from the two flowers. Needless to say there is no longer any white. I am not sure if there is any life to the dogwood now or if it is just a support for the vine. Now the wisteria is climbing to adjacent trees and if it were my property I would be very concerned. It's still beautiful. Looks like a wisteria tree. It also sends little baby wisterias over to my yard which I militantly pull out. -Ais.
