Looking for advice on 30' gas range (free-standing)
Comments (12)Convection is something I use frequently and would recommend. From what I hear, the warming drawers at this price point are not worth the money/space. Regarding the center burner... If I had a choice, I would rather spend the money on 4 good burners (15k BTU+) than 4-5 mediocre burners, but in this price range, they all seem to be a similar setup (probably built by the same 2 companies). I have a hard time envisioning a decent size griddle getting evenly heated with any of these center burners. The Frigidaire has slightly higher burner output on average, but then there's that CNB to deal with....See MoreINDUCTION wars: Electrolux freestanding or Bosch slide in?
Comments (16)Whenever possible you should order from RepairClinic or AppliancePartsPros when DIY repairing. They let you return parts including boards up to a year after buying no questions asked, even after installing them in an appliance. If my Elux breaks I will definitely repair myself to keep costs down. Boards are not hard to change. The 2nd oven is no bigger than a warming drawer, the only difference is it can go up to 450 degrees. I haven't had the occasion to use it yet since I also have a separate walloven but I could definitely see it coming in handy. Like the Bosch slide in it has probe, proof, and other modes such as slow cook. To be honest Kiwigem I kind of hope you buy the Bosch so we can get some more feedback on it :) This post was edited by hvtech42 on Thu, Aug 7, 14 at 20:53...See MoreFrigidaire vs. Bosch Gas Ranges
Comments (3)Bosch cost more, you don't like the black knobs, good reasons to eliminate. It also less less BTU burners and 2 racks vs 3 with the Frigidaire. The BTU difference could matter especially if you use propane and have a loss....See More$1800 to replace 30" freestanding gas range, OTR microwave, dishwasher
Comments (7)Bosch 500 series dishwasher is highly recommended. For a gas range, GE makes several in the $1000 price range, so does Frigidaire. Most of these have gotten good reviews on this forum. I like the Bosch over the range microwave if this is your only choice. Another forum member recommended the newer models by Jenn Aire because they are deeper and have higher cams. If you could change to a normal hood and get a separate microwave to place in the kitchen, you will be much happier. For the range, have you considered induction? I don't know if you will need to add an electrical outlet but many on the forum including myself own induction and love it. Look for rebates and sales on the dishwasher Good luck!...See MoreRelated Professionals
