Off-white with a bright colored, mid century door was the direction I was leaning, so it sounds like I’m on the right track, @emmarene9, I think the small plants are boxwoods, but I am going to pull those out along with the stones and redo that bed with some more mid-century appropriate, Texas native landscaping - maybe grasses or succulents. And here’s a close up of the iron scrolling that you asked for (dirty and coated in that ugly green paint, but in good shape otherwise).

Really nice house and yard. Agree ... don't paint the brick; do wrap the porch post and do darken the garage door (if painted, it should be one of the darker colors in the brick. If it is in your budget to replace the garage door and front door w/wood MCM doors, do. You might also consider a short wood privacy fence in the same wood finish on each side of the house set in a straight line with the front exterior wall with a gate for access to the back yard on at least one side. You might want to paint the downspouts so they better blend with the most dominant color in the brick. Don't clutter the house attaching a lot of trim without actual useful purpose. Don't clutter the wide open spaces of the front yard. Instead, create a hedge beneath the windows on the left side and trim the tops in a straight horizontal line beneath the window sills. Outline the planting area for these with pavers with their tops at ground level to make mowing beside them easier. You could leave the row of shrubs alongside the driveway and add a sidewalk straight forward from your porch alongside the shrubs (on the side opposite the shrubs), thus creating an outlined planting area for the shrubs. Unless you truly like doing detailed yard work in the summer heat and winter cold -- or paying someone else to do it -- then primarily focus on creating the most healthy lawn possible rather than adding a lot of other planting areas to be tended.

I have a 1956 MCM ranch and I would never put vinyl siding on it.I think I would be curious to know what is under it for sure .They often mixed the brick with siding . I have pebble dash stucco and siding on mine I so wish I had brick insted but we have learned to love the pebble dash it is a bit of history where we live in B.C. Another thought to keep in mind down the road is some really cool MCM landscaping . This idea is one of my favorites. We are still working on the inside so will tackle the landscaping next.

Maybe a bigger project that you envision, but I would replace the porch surface with brick, add a broad, deep step off the porch and an equally wide brick walk to the street. Take out the odd little brick bed next to the house and use those bricks for the step, if nothing else. You could also remove all the brick bed areas and use them on the porch.Or you could replace the brick with concrete and face it with your own bricks sawn into 3 pieces to use as facing bricks. Pick up on that orange brick near the step to paint the front doors ochre or sienna. I would paint all the trim, porch siding, column and garage in back with a soft white like those two bricks just below the left corner of the front window. Replace or move your house numbers to the column or to the brick wall opposite it. Other than the azaleas, which I always love, I would replace any non-blooming plants with more azaleas or with low growing evergreen shrubbery that will stay below the windows without you having to maintain it.
