just hate the counters and backsplash
Comments (2)Yeah, it's more important that you found your dreamhouse. All I can tell you is that when I had estimates done to get a new granite countertop and have my old laminate tops ripped out I had four estimates ranging from $250.00 - $415.00. HTH. They haven't done it yet but they better not ruin the cabinets, but as always, you sign away their responsibility for damage on the dotted line. I wish I would have done it earlier! I admire your gumption to get what you want so you can enjoy it now....See MoreHelp - I hate my new backsplash!!!
Comments (12)Don't know how to help without pictures. From all that I have read here, the BS decision is the #1 decision nightmare. Feeling your pain here. In my case the actual tile came in the wrong color and crackle finish. My contractor did install it (knowing full well he may have to tear it all out) but with a change of grout color, it looks warmer. It actually looks like I knew what the heck I was doing :) He did have to rip some tile out around the garden window, b/c he not like how that running board looked, but there was no damage to the cabs. A good contractor will have the right tools to remove you tile carefully if that's the way you want to go. Take a deep breath, have a glass of wine, and don't rush into a hasty decision. Best of luck to you!...See MoreI hate my new backsplash
Comments (35)That’s really helpful. In googling your material I came across something called Chip It by Sherwin Williams that apparently breaks the mix of colors into swatches that correspond to their paints. If you are looking for new tile, this could help you get the color right. By far the easiest thing to do is change your mind. Just live with it a while and if the hate persists, hire someone else to do the demo....See Morehate this backsplash!
Comments (14)OK, Ron is it? Watch the video and use your common sense. You remove tile by touching the tile, not by touching the cabinets. At some point you need to acknowledge that you made a mistake, and decide whether you are willing to put in the effort or the money to fix it. There is no way your builder installed a tile you didn’t approve and agree to pay for. You made a mistake. Fix it or don’t, that’s your business. Your husband doesn’t want to pull it down, you don’t want to do it either, and you are clearly unwilling to pay to fix it. The only thing left to do is enjoy it. Best of luck....See Morehoussaon
