Front Page Extensions
Comments (6)Sorry I wasn't clear! I guess I thought if I knew what I was thinking, you would too. LOL. Now, the files are still on my webpage because after I noticed I could not open up that bottom row of tables on my FP program on my computer, I did not republish. So as far as the visitors go, my pics are still there for viewing. I noticed the background is still on some of my pic pages, and I can put it back on all of them with one click. But that is what I was trying to remove in order to be in compliance with my webserver (ICD). And this is not just this one webserver, but all sites that use the FP extensions will be changed soon. I was just trying to get ahead of the game and get it all in compliance before the cut-off date, which could begin in August. After I removed everything down to the bare bones, I am still left with FP extensions somewhere on this site. What I needed was a list of what all is included in the Shared Borders that I can remove. And yes, I would love to be able to get my picture folders back on my website program on my computer like they are on the actual website. Oh, I have a copy of the website on drive c, but it is automatically backed up once a week, so is probably not going to be any better than what I have now. As a last resort, I may try again to sync my files. Sure appreciate you trying to help. I'll try to be clearer! Ida...See MoreHair texture products: any recommendations?
Comments (50)I was at Ulta last week, not my favorite place to shop, looking something for my hair. I have color treated, fine hair but lots of it. I never use conditioner, a detangler or even shampoo with a conditioner. I stay away from any extra products, they make my hair flat and feel dirty the next day. I asked one of the hairdresser for a suggestion and she recommended Beach Envy volumizer by Redken. it was pricey but she said I could come in and swap it out if I didn't like it. I will say it is the best thing I have ever tried on my hair! Its almost like a gel that you apply after shampooing, work through and then rinse out. My hair is full, the slight curl, I wear it in a longish bob, stays in for at least 3 days and it does not feel dirty, it actually feels good. I like my hair to look healthy and have movement (says my hairdresser) and it does. BTW the gal from Ulta said if I didn't like that product that Fashion waves 07 that lukki suggested was very good too, she actually didn't know which one to recommend to me. I finally have a product that works for me!!! It will probably be discontinued tomorrow LOL....See MoreFoyer runner: Yes, Maybe, or Oh Heck No?
Comments (73)I don't know what you decided about a runner. I've only read the first few replies. As usual, I'll most likely be the descending vote. I like my floors uncluttered...and I realize most people don't consider a rug as clutter. Maybe "busy" is a better word. It's just a cleaner look to me and I prefer it. You've got so much lovely art on the walls of your hall, it just seems to me that a busy runner would detract from the art. If you felt you needed something for warmth during our very short winters, I'd prefer a solid color...See MoreSuggestions for hair thickening products?
Comments (43)IIRC, nutritional deficiencies take around 6 months to show in hair (around 3 for skin). Hair is the last place to show a nutritional deficiency so when we do supplement for skin and hair, we need to give it time to work. It's a matter of months, not weeks, before seeing results. That said, I Googled to confirm my recollection of the time spans and found this study which says certain supplements (such as selenium) actually contribute to hair loss and combinations of certain vitamins are contraindicated. So. Not simple. Quote bolded below about Vit A. Vitamin A "While deficiency has not been linked to hair loss, high levels of vitamin A have. In fact, one study found that in a mouse AA model, reduction of vitamin A in the diet actually delayed hair loss onset [56]. In humans, hypervitaminosis A may result from over-supplementation and has a strong known link to hair loss with other effects such as skin, vision, and bone changes [4,8]." This study does say research in humans is lacking. Have we mentioned Philip Kingsley products yet? He was a "trichologist", a hair and scalp specialist and apparently, he developed a lot of effective hair products. They're pricey things. The NYC and London clinics offer 2-hour consultations. They also offer virtual consultations. As for burning scalp (dysesthesia?), a lot of unknown about that as well. My advice is keep being your own detective. Be observant and open-minded (but not so much your brains fall out? :)). A food and mood journal for a few months might offer valuable clues. (I discovered the cause and simple solution for my own "nothing we can do medically, here are some antidepressants" chronic health issue so I'll always vouch for this approach. We know ourselves best, in some ways.) Last bit of advice: start with easiest, least invasive change or product first and give it time to work before trying a second. (That said, make sure your thyroid levels are checked - the complete panel, not just the TSH levels!)...See Morebpath
