Need suggestions for good wall colors of 2 small bathrooms.
Comments (9)I don't know. If you don't get help here go to the decorating forum. There are lots of color folks over there. Have you looked at bathroom colors on Houzz? I'm adding some thoughts: Are there windows in the BRs? that might dictate your choices. I have gone with a very neutral color, gray :) so that I don't ever have to paint again! Just kidding. I installed all my wall tile and think that it is so neutral (white) that any color might go with it in the future. I am hoping that the tile stays there forever. It will out last me. I used the best materials to put it up :) Anyway I am thinking that neutral paint color would be good in a small bath, then you can jazz it up with accessories. Or you could go bold with paint and keep other elements understated. My BR is 6.5x9.5. Permanent features are very neutral in color, my accessories will have soft colors. IMHO a small BR doesn't need to many statements, it is supposed to stay on task! Comments (3)Trina, I don't think I would like gray on the walls with your cabinet color. You have a warm color kitchen and I think the gray would clash. Also, is there green in the countertop? It looks blue on my monitor. While green would look knice with your cabs, be careful about the countertops. I would choose a paint color that cooridinates with your countertop. Is there a gold in there? I can see a color like SW Blonde/BM Desert Tan but not sure if you would want to go in that direction. As far as the cabinet goes, I would paint it to blend in with the walls-just with a different finish(satin with flat on the walls). Do you really want it to stand out? I actually see nothing wrong with the current color either. You could accent with colorful accessories. Hopefully some of these folks here will chime in with some more ideas!...See MoreSmall entry with front door that opens into a wall 4 ft away
Comments (25)I have an entryway that is similar. I put a large mirror and I love it. I hated our entryway when we first moved in and have grown to like it as It runs half the length of the house and it makes our home feel more private. We can’t see any neighbors from the back of our house and thanks to the smart entryway design we can’t see any in the front either when in the main living areas. I did have a painting there before, the mirror helped me not feel as though I was walking straight into a wall. It helped the space look so much larger as the front door has glass and the mirror seemed to bounce that light around making everything seem larger....See MoreSmall house, small entryway?
Comments (5)Here's what I would do. Clear everything off the walls and remove the table & lamp that are by the entry and front window. Place the sofa like it is in your first two pictures. Empty the tall black bookcase, take it to the opposite wall and lay it on its side. Use it to put the TV on and decorate the open shelves with large decor items. If you feel it is too short, add some feet to it. Leave your current TV stand where it is in the foyer. Put the lamp on it and lay out your pictures on the carpet to see if any of them need to go above it. Here is a before and after of a redesign I did changing the usage of a black bookshelf. Sorry the lighting is not good, but she turned the shelf on its side and gave it a new look and purpose. You can do the same here. Before After...See MoreGirlmom101
