I've seen blue leather pieces before and they can be stunning. I think it'd be fine to have two blue leather chairs with a white sofa, or do a different fabric chair. You could do another shade of blue or a neutral like gray or beige. Sometimes decorating is easier with neutrals, but then you run the risk of going too bland and boring. I think a nice blue leather chair would be fun.

Blue leather is starting to get popular again. Blue also goes with so many other colors and as you mentioned can have the WOW factor. Grey can get old after a while.

I don't see why not. Or more accurately I am finishing up my living room with the help of a designer and after much deliberation selected two occasional chairs in blue leather to complement my sofa and vintage carved wood armchair.

I selected leather deliberately because I needed a *fabric* that would work with the existing upholstered sofar and chair. My sofa is a solid blue mohair velvet and the chair is a pattern with complementary blue tones. Solid fabric wouldn't work and neither would pattern.

The leather I chose is perfect because the leather doesn't "clash" with the existing sold sofa and the specific shade of blue works because it picks up the lighter gradations of blue in the sofa when the light hits it.

Leather comes in so many different colors. It is only in showrooms that choices are brown, black, cream and the occasional *wild* navy blue.

Even the particular softer blue I wanted had four different subtle variations. I was able to lay them all out on the sofa and pick the one that worked best with the sofa.
