Thyme seedlings keep dying, why?,

last modified: 2 years ago

I just got some orange thyme seeds from Baker Creek. All the seeds I surface sowed germinated within a few days and looked pretty healthy. But now the seedlings are disappearing, I guess dying. But why? I am using a fresh seed germination mix, heat mat and grow lights, like for all my other seeds. Could it be too much moisture? Not hot enough? I know thyme likes it dryish. But even the seedlings?

Last year thyme seedlings died for me too. I didnt think about it too much. I just got a few plants. But leads me to think I am systematically doing something wrong, at least for thyme.

What could it be?

Thanks!
