Anyone know where I can get my hands on a few roses in CA?
Comments (3)Guerrero Rose Farm in Ontario is pretty good about letting you know on the phone if they have the roses on your list before making the drive over there. They are on Euclid off the 60 or the 10, not too far from you I think. (909)988-0015...See MoreDoes anyone know where I can find this granite??!
Comments (5)It is a very pretty stone, I can't help you find it, but I can recommend that before you buy it, you bring a sample home and look at it in your light. Pink stones are notoriously difficult to work around. They look pink under direct light, but most of the time they just look yellow/brown. Before you choose a stone, make sure to find inspiration images that use it well - kitchens you would want to own. This will at least give you an idea of what to pair with it in terms of cabinet colors and bs tile. Good luck!...See MoreDavid Austin’s for humidity
Comments (22)I'm in Maryland, so my humidity is quite extreme, and I have to say planting DAs in my no-spray garden was a mistake. Not a single plant I could describe as healthy. By comparison, a few landscaping roses I have by the front door are spotless. But it's too late now -- I'm hooked and I can't imagine spring without them. When summer comes along, I shift my focus to summer perennials, and my veg and fruit garden. But if I ever move... no more Austins for me. Carding Mill today and back in May:...See MoreBest David Austin’s for continuous blooming
Comments (52)I’ve been wondering if I should have gotten Darcey Bussel instead of Munstead Wood. MW is said to be much more fragrant, but in my garden it is only fragrant when conditions are just right. It’s an okay bloomer, but flowers lose their form, size and color in the heat of summer. The flowers crisp quickly in our dry summer heat. The spring and fall flowers are wonderful though. Sheila, do you have a MW? If so, how does it compare to DB? Stephanie? Bishop’s Castle would happily grow to 6 feet in my garden if well irrigated. I keep mine rather dry and the flowers are smaller, but it mostly stays about 4 feet and bushy. When the late summer monsoons come and the weather cools down, it shoots up taller basals that get pruned down in the winter....See Moresautesmom Sacramento
