Foyer paint color options--please advise
Comments (10)I guess the two floor colors. We can't really judge the colors with the unfinished floor other than which ones we like better in and of themselves. So I vote for the warm ones! They seem to go well with your warm tile samples too. I'm not sure what backdrop means in the above photo. I think the cooler colors do look nice with the cooler dark brown but I prefer the warm ones with the chestnut colored floor. Comments (4)There's nothing wrong with attaching a deck to a house. That's typically how it's done, with a ledger board. What's your reason for wanting a free-standing deck? That will require a lot more cross bracing underneath, which you probably don't want since you've got doors and windows there. What wood is rotting? Is it just the deck boards or is it the framing? If just the deck boards (common, as they wear out faster than the framing), then just replace the decking. If the framing, then you need to figure out what has caused the rot. Is it properly flashed at the ledger? Post close-up photos of the rotted parts if you want more specific help....See MoreRoll on pool plaster renovation options
Comments (0)I have a few clients that appear to have a roll on pool plaster of some kind - both on identical 50+ year old pools. Both will need renovation shortly as the interior surface is failing and delaminating all over the place. The problem is that this plaster product looks like a roll on, not trowel on product and is less than 1/4" or so in thickness in many areas. Normally I would say that a sandblast is in order to get down to something solid in terms of substrate - but both clients say they had to sandblast last time the pool was renovated and neither are excited about paying for another round of sandblasting. The surface now is about 5 years old and about 15% peeled and delaminated. Its too risky to go over with something else since I am sure this super-thin plaster layer is sure to continue to delaminate. Scraping will get off a bunch of old material, but not enough to avoid sandblasting in my opinion. Just looking for any feedback from contractors who use, or renovate pools with, roll on pool plasters. I am experienced with tile, plaster and paint finishes in concrete pools but not roll on plasters....See MoreFoyer flooring options
Comments (8)@ gary A that looks fantastic! i like the border and the transition to the surrounding room, and that the other room doesnt have the same pattern. It really stands out. Is that LVP? Im trying to attach my before pic but Its not working, but. my current dilemma is what flooring to put in for the foyer because the family room (to the right) is hardwood, and we are not changing that. Also the kitchen isn't getting redone any time soon, so the entry flooring has to visually make sense with the current surrounding flooring. I'm leaning toward a non-wood look LVP...See MoreRelated Professionals
