I like variety. It's BORING to walk into the same bathroom for the next 50 years. Never mind to have every bathroom also look the same. Ugh. (yes, there's always reason to remodel, but this way, I'll only get tired of one bathroom at a time...and it might take longer). This means that the cabinets are all different, but when they're in close proximity, I tried to make them match and flow but not be identical. Kitchen has the same style (Thomasville Chrisi 5-Piece) but in two colors. Drybar around the corner has Ikea cabinets in the near identical color to the kitchen perimeter cabinets. Hoping to put the same cabinets as the drybar into the walk-in pantry. The main bathroom is very modern-industrial. So it has an ikea cabinet, same color as the drybar, different style. Mudroom I haven't decided. Kinda wanting something different. Upstairs bath is very zen spa-like, so it's a dark cocoa cabinet in a very modern style. Walk in closet cabinets are cheaper, but in a color to match the big jacuzzi tub right outside the room. I just like variety. But continuity. If that makes sense.

RM...whoa. First of all, thanks so much for the thumbs up on my hardware choices. Second, your kitchen looks great! I have admired it many times on GW. Third, kudos for being such an awesome mom. You have two kids at two extremes and I know that both can be equally challenging. I totally love Zoloft and Lindt Chili Chocolate. But like you said, that *is* a totally different story altogether ;) Let me be clear. I do love Christopher Peacock kitchens. If he wanted to gift me one, I would happily accept. I am just so bored with the expense of his kitchens and do find that they lack a certain personality. Or should I say, pretty much only contain *his* personality. Still, they're hot to look at! I am flattered that you are asking little old me for advice, but I am sure there are much much MUCH more experienced members who would actually know where to begin. For me, I read your post, looked at your kitchen, and couldn't figure out why you wanted to change your kitchen. It is very Peacock-esque. The furniture feet support that look. I can't tell from the pic what the space is between the fridges. Is that a desk/message center? I am intrigued by your love of pink and am wondering why the rug in front of the sink isn't pink! I honestly really like your kitchen and, to be truthful, do not want to offend you with any critiques that might be not up your ally. The main thing is, I am not sure what you want to achieve with reworking things. From the sound of your post, I take it that you want to warm it up a bit and lighten that wall of upper cabs. The main thing that came to mind when I looked at the kitchen was that it would look really nice with no upper cabs. But that probably would not be very practical. I know when designing my kitchen, I thought it would be lovely to have no uppers...but where would I put the food? OMG..I could have had a really big pantry next to the fridge. Oh crap, that would have been better! Man, see what you've done? Now I want to redo *my* kitchen and it hasn't even been installed yet!

One possibility would be to exchange the red for a soft coral tending toward faded red...or if you like, a subtle lavender like the fields below Le Baux. I think one way to get the blend you are after is to take the traditional French colors of red, blue, and yellow, and then use paler, sunbleached versions of them. Go further south in France, and think of the Cote d'Azure. Find a big reproduction of one of those fabulous travel posters from the '30s advertising Cannes or St. Tropez and put it in your red (or whatever you decide on) room, to signal your French coastal flavor. What you really need to do is take three or four weeks off, rent a nice little car in Avignon, and head out to St. Remy, along the valley south of the Luberon through Lambesc and down to Aix en Provence, west and north through Dreaguignan to the perfume centers in Grasse, back down to the coast at Cannes, east along the Corniche through Frejus and through St. Tropez to Toulon; pause to get your breath for a few days, and on to the train station at Marseilles where you will board the TGV to Paris. When can we leave???

IMO you best figure out if the pulls you want come in different sizes and I think those black ones look very heavy on white cabinets. I like pulls to be in proprtion to the cabinet or drwaer size and lots do not come in enough sizes. As for different ones in different rooms that is not a problem.I do however not like mixing too many finishes in a kitchen so if you want the trendy champagne pulls then go the same for faucet or if you have a stainless sink go satinless
