What sealer/finish to use for handrail and post cap to match floors

I am having my pine wood floors redone. Downstairs flooring will be replaced with select grade white oak. Upstairs we will sand and refinish the pine since it is cost-prohibitive to replace the whole house with the oak. The staircase, which is new, has select white oak treads, handrail and starting post cap. Risers and posts will be painted white. I am going with Bona Nordic seal on the floors with three coats of Traffic HD satin. The floor guys suggest having my painter, rather than them, do the handrail and starting cap. The painter is fine with that. What product(s) should he use for the handrail and cap?

i have attached a photo of the new stairs. You can see a bit of the pine floors. Downstairs flooring is wood just in LR, DR and office—the kitche, foyer and other areas are all tile).
