Living Room Decor Help
Comments (3)Am I wrong to think that this may not be the best layout for your furniture? I just get the feeling that the loveseat should go where the sofa is and vise -versa. The loveseat on the other wall would not make the light switches such an issue and would fit better between the door opening and window. But I also see you have a shelving unit... A larger lamp to bring the eye up would also balance those windows out better....See MoreLiving Room Decor Help
Comments (6)BeverlyFLADeziner, yes I had questions about the fireplace area of the room, in which you provided great suggestions that I ended up using. Thank you! But now I am trying to figure out decorating for the area above the couch and any other suggestions....See MoreLiving Room Decor Help!
Comments (6)How would hubs feel if you sold the couch? Is it the money he's worried about? Can the sectional be taken apart easily? Maybe taking it apart and using just certain parts of it may be an option. Regarding the rug, I like the selections on overstock.com. I don't have a problem with you mixing metals, since you have a pretty cohesive look going on here. Items on the console? You can leave it empty if there's a very small space between the tv and the console. You can go to your local art gallery for ideas. Also Michaels craft store and get some items. Measure the area between the console and the tv. I'd put anything like small sculptural items to low plants. Vary the heights and colors of the items to keep it interesting. https://www.houzz.com/photos/query/tv-console-decor-contemporary/nqrwns That's all I can advise for now....See MoreLiving room decor help
Comments (5)You may want to consider a few different things when it comes time for painting the walls of your home. For example, if you live in an east-facing house and see blue skies during the day while looking out from between two windows (or one window), then white paint might not be enough - as bright colors will appear too intense at night when compared with other options such as cool blues or yellows! You can also look into which way that sunlight enters through: south facing rooms get washed over by warm glow; west sides gets lost beneath dark shadows Contrast the higher decorating details with lower stylings. From couches and chairs that sit close to the ground, to coffee tables and ottomans that are designed to be low, the contrast of high and low designs will stretch your space and give the illusion of a larger room. Light is a key design feature in any room, but it is essential in a small space. Skip the heavy window treatments that will block out the natural light and choose curtains or shades that will let the light in. Add interesting lamps and light fixtures to your room that go beyond just a lamp on an end table. Brighten a wall and add a fun design detail with wall sconces. Choosing the right rug for your space is important. When designing a small living room, avoid large pieces of furniture that will crowd it and make everything else seem tiny in comparison- but when choosing rugs don't fear because bigger IS better! A great way to anchor any area without making things feel too bustling? A luxurious thick carpeting with rich color tones could be just what you need so guests know exactly where they're at before walking through those doors...See Moredecoenthusiaste
