Trying to find a harmless bath tub under $400
Comments (71)My grandma eats sweets including homemade pies with 1-2 c sugar per pie, loves sweets in general, eats too many fried foods for my taste, doesn’t eat paint chips, bathes in a porcelain tub, and was JUST moved to a nursing facility this year since she’s losing her mobility (mind is still intact) and in another month she will be celebrating her 100th birthday. You don’t have to live in a bubble to live a long life. Much of your life expectancy is predetermined in large part by genetics. Use common sense and don’t lick the bathtub....See MorePick a tub faucet re-vote for Moderne tiled room
Comments (22)I guess I have expensive tastes, lol. Seriously, I had no idea the Rohl was that expensive. I remembered seeing it in a showroom because it was very striking, but it was one of those places where they make you track down someone to ask the price. I couldn't stomach that price either. In our last house, between 2 baths, we used Aquabrass for 4 lav faucets, one tub set and one combo shower/tub set. We installed in 2005, and it still looked and worked great in 2010 when we moved out, so I know that as of 2005, at least, they were making a great product. Our faucets felt heavy and sturdy, and they had a really nice brushed nickel finish. We also used a Hansgrohe wall bar shower head in the master shower, and we loved that too. We found good prices on the faucets at Homeclick.com....See MoreWhat do you have on the wall above your master bath tub?
Comments (28)I have 2 windows (with faux wood blinds covering them thank you) at right angles above the tub in the master bath, so no wall art there. However, I do have a prominent piece of wall separating 2 mirrors over our vanities.........This wall is crying for something but I haven't found it. The other day, I saw some really pretty decorative wall clocks and have been thinking about that. For some reason I wasn't sure if it would be odd to have a pretty wall clock hanging there, although honestly it kind of makes sense. What do you think? The ones I saw (at Ross or TJMaxx) were round and had nice detailed frames. I am linking a nice substantial one I just saw on the o site, just wondering what the decorating experts here think of a decorative clock as a piece of décor in a bathroom.square not round but a pretty clock...See MoreIs my water heater big enough for this Jacuzzi tub?
Comments (22)on the second page of the spec sheet it has a chart with one section labeled temperature raise. One module only does a 22 degree temp raise at 4 gpm. SO if your groundwater is 55 you will only be able to raise it to 77 at 4 gpm. I like my water at least 100 degrees, so if the water is 55 and you need a 45 degree raise, it will only do 2 gpm, that's with NO other water mixed in, so it will take a long long time to fill. You said its 110 gallons or so, at 4 gpm it will still take 25 minutes...so you need something that can put out enough hot water to fill it in about 10-15 minutes (so it doesn't get cold waiting to fill) . I know I like it warmer than 100 (maybe 105?) because back when I was pregnant I used to use a pool thermometer because they suggest pregnant women not bathe in over 100 degree. I was OK with 100, but wished it could be warmer! If you have gas, then price out a dedicated tankless for it. Its probably easier then running a special electric line assuming you have gas anyway. As far as the 75 gal tank. If it heats water to 130 and you use all 75 gal, that means you are mixing that 75 gal with cold water...how cold does your water get (didn't notice your location)? Try mixing 7 cups of your hottest water with 5 cups of your COLD water and see how it comes out. (I think that is the same proportions as 70 gal hot and 50 gal cold=120gal....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
