Cold Room Help Please

Hello out there! Looking for some advice on my cold room in my basement.

This room is the foundation of a small extension/mudroom in the back of the house. Most of it is below ground but not all. We currently plan to use it as a cold room but wanted some opinions on some of our plans to clean it up before use. Hopefully the attached photos will help give the visual to the plans below.

1. we are planning to tile the walls that are below ground and the floor. For the walls, is applying tile directly to the concrete a good idea or bad idea?

2. there is styrofoam on the parts of the wall that are above gorund, should that be removed or replaced?

3. there is a small window on one wall and another bigger window on another. My thought is in the warmer months both windows would stay open for air circulation but should those windows stay open in the winter as well?

Any thoughts or any other ideas are most welcome!

Cheers.
