Art work above bed suggestions
Comments (2)Perhaps something like this? (link below ...) OR perhaps simply create a grid (maybe six or eight or even ten depending on size) of your own photographs. Consider taking a walk around a local historical district of your town OR perhaps a local garden or nice area -- photograph a collection -- trees? cool doors or architechural elements? THEN -- take the photographs and have them printed in sepia (brownish) tones. Mat them alike in creamy white and frame in dark chocolate brown. Hang in a tight grid above the bed .... Comments (62)Everdebz, to answer your questions... I don't know how big my dining table is (I haven't seen it in 1.5 years). It seats 6 comfortably or 8 if you crowd the ends. I prefer to keep it to 6. Yes, I am still looking for large scale, abstract, minimalistic art in any colors except red and yellow. I especially like black (if there was a darker color it would be my favorite), grey, dark to medium purple, and dark or rust orange. I'm not a huge fan of whimsical or fantasy. I wouldn't do 3 paintings to make 1 or have something that yells modern cliche to me. I would say I have a thousand dollar taste on a five hundred dollar budget, every time I see some thing I love, I wish it were about half the price. I do understand artists and art dealers need to make a buck but I think my expectations thus far exceed my pocketbook's depth. :)...See MoreHelp me style my bedroom

Comments (10)Doggo is a cutie, and I like your room. What is your rug budget? Are you keeping the curtains? Unless you need a table by the chair (for drinks or whatever), I think I’d just do a floor lamp. It looks like a pretty tight space. I got this one for an MCM chair in my DD’s 1940’s era apartment, she loves it. It comes in various colors. (Ad picture, not her apt) — Just playing around, you mentioned red and black in a rug — I actually have this one in my bathroom. It’s holding up great and is very soft with wonderful saturated colors. (The mockup skews the patterns a bit) ..... Safavieh Rug CB2 also has some nice rugs with these colors, and you can mock them up in your room like I did above. These two sites here, as well as Rugs USA, eSaleRugs, and others, have the mock-up feature if you want to see how shag rugs would look....See MoreL A
