Comments (28)Hey Mark...will you be doing any pruning to your Liberty this year? Was wondering if I could get some scion wood? I know a lot of folks here have it, and maybe I'd be better off getting it from someone closer so it spends less time out of the cooler, but I can't remember who all has it. I was thinking of trading small quantities of Imidan 70WP for scions. I have more than I'll ever use (fresh, just got it) and a lot of folks here have expressed the desire to try it. The only hangup is I'm kinda worried someone may misplace the bottle and it gets mistaken for something else. For those with young children I probably wouldn't be comfortable with it. Let me know. BTW, I never have any issues with CM here (knocking on wood), but I spray a lot. My issues tend to be fungal and bacterial so the DR varieties should do well for me. I've heard enough great things about Liberty to want it, but enough so-so comments to preclude me from devoting space to a single tree. I have a seedling (now getting quite big) that I've been grafting to. So far I've put Goldrush and Honeycrisp on it. Liberty would be an awesome additional graft....See Morepalmetto bugs
Comments (108)Oh, boy do I know where you are coming from, Scotland1! I live on the coast of North Carolina, and they are bad here too. I think what we have are called American roaches...not quite as big as palmettos, but close. The only thing good about our cold winters (short lived) is that they arent around very much. I get my house exterminated 4 times a year, HOWEVER, this past fall season, I bought Raid Bug Barrier. It said it "keeps bugs out", so I gave it a try. I spray (and it has an option to spray a pretty far distance with a steady stream...so if a bug is crawling up the wall around the corners at the ceiling. As they do here!) Anyway, I spray outside on my patio, around doors and windows, and even on the house. I spray inside just a little where I suspect they might enter. Ever since I started this, I have seen only two bugs, and they were about to kill over. I will never be out of this stuff....See MoreMoths in pantry - help! (long)
Comments (25)Sevin, Carbaryl, is quite toxic and is not meant to be used in the house. Nothing I have ever found about controlling grain, pantry, or Indian moths has ever recommended spraying with Carbaryl inside the house. As long as the adult moths can mate and lay eggs in a food source, grains, flour, cereals, etc. they will be present. One method of control is to put these materials in a 155 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes, which will kill any eggs and larva as well as any adults. Another method of control is to place these items in the freezer until they are to be used, and put them back when no longer being used. kimmq is kimmsr...See MorePet Peeves!
Comments (24)Bobby! funny!!...aiiink peeehuiiiin LOL! And the very mention of "ink pen" drives me wild. What other kind of pen is there? A pig pen? a catsup pen? And then there are some who use words like prior to when they mean before or forenoon when they mean morning or gratuity when they mean tip or human resources when they mean personnel....etc. Another annoyance is being someone in a grocery check out line. They watch while the clerk checks their order, pronounces a total..then dig in the purse for a check book, ask for a pen, make out a check, fill in the stub, then hand it to the checker and wait because they have made the check out for more so as to get cash! AARGH...and I walk up swipe my card....and if it's under $25 I don't even have to sign!...See Morekathyg_in_mi
