You've talked to Crate & Barrel about the color discrepancy? I know that fabric printing runs can vary slightly, but if it's noticeably off, perhaps the store needs to do something about it?

The dining room looks fine to me, the windows seem to be centered with the light fixture and the table. There is extra space on the one wall which will accomodate the server or hutch without taking away from the table room. That room works out fine. You will probably be very happy its that way when your furniture arrives! You can center the rug under the table and it wont interfere with your hutch, etc. I love the color, what is it? The family room is a tough one, I dont like when windows are crammed into the corner, it makes it difficult to hang window treatment hardware. What does the rest of that room look like? Is that the wall you will put an entertainment unit on? That might take your eye away from the window issue. I wouldnt worry about it now, it will probably look better with furniture and paintings in the room.

I would need to see a better close up of the rug that is staying, but to give you an idea of updates that would help. Paint in the lighter blue color, or the ivory, cabinets, walls and ceiling. You can leave the center ones darker, and if that blue matches the one in the rug, then that works. For the backs of the cabinets, put a nice ivory/light blue damask wallpaper that matches the cabinet paint color and ivory in the room and rugs. Replace the mirror with one like pictured below. Update all the pulls with crystal ones like pictured here. Update the lamp to a crystal one, and replace the fan with a crystal chandlier. I have not read through each of the comments due to a limited amount of time to do so on my part, However I did get to your photo of the navy chairs around a white table. So thus far my question is this. Grand Millineal is not the style of that inspiration photo you shared. That is a modern farmhouse style. SO before movimng on which one are you trying to achieve? With your existing chairs the only type of paint that may bring them closer to the Grand mIllineal look is to have them lacquered professionally, the seat bottom upholstered and adding a great fabric inspired pillow with a great flat trim to the back. If you were to do that it would get you closer but still would have a distinictive country vibe due to the X back on the chair. Also if you were to do all those things you would be spending more on your existing chairs than you would if you were to source new chairs. GM doesnt limit itself to a Chinese Chippendale chair and bamboo. That style would be difficult to pick up for a song currently due to its popularity but others would not. Also which form of GM are you inspired by? Coastal GM? Grandma GM? Tradiational GM? all things to consider. If your heart is set on the Chinese Chippendale style chair I would try to get to a Ballard Design outlet center on a weekend. They always have them on the floor there and usually run 50% off during the weekends. You won't get 4-6 of the same color but you will get them for a great price and then can paint them.
