Comments (14)I just Google this plant and on the first 2 pages MOBOT had it listed as a height of 5-7 ft - most of the rest were in the 36 inch range. I've had one for a number of years and have move it once which slowed down it's growth. Looked a lot like Dave's at first, but once the roots got re-established, it took off and is now similar to what Ken's plant looks like. Dave's plant looks to me like it may have had some early on shearing to get that shape and I would think it would be easy enough to keep that shape with some annual attention. I find the plant very adaptable, but needs some moisture to tolerate drought conditions. My color is the same year round. Marshall...See MoreWhere did you find your expresso vanity?
Comments (23)The local store is "The Powder Room" 540 N. Santa Cruz Avenue, Suite A Los Gatos, CA 95030 I met the owner, who was extremely helpful. I am pretty excited by the Ronbow vanity and I'll take DH to her showroom. She also had a Toto toilet complete with a washlet in her bathroom with the Fairmont toilet topper and a Fairmont vanity. It was great seeing the American Standard Town Square toilet in person with the soft close seat and ADH height. It has a map score of 1,000 and I'm leaning towards this toilet over a Toto. The one vanity that really caught my attention is the Ronbow Adara vanity, which is available in a dark cherry and I'm seriously considering the Ronbow ceramic sink top (integral counter and sink). I think it will be a snap to clean. It's also available with a transitional glass door or solid doors (the solid doors are cheaper). I also liked their Asian-style vanity, but it doesn't come in a 48 inch size. I'm having some second thoughts about the carrera marble top due to the fact that this is the most heavily used bathroom in the house. Therefore, I found the sink top to be a great option functionally and aesthetically! I really got excited about it! The link below shows it in a lighter cinnamon color instead of the dark cherry. Comments (9)Thank you for all your complement and suggestions! I guess a few coats of paint did wonders to this repurposed dresser/night stand. the original dresser was really not pretty. I just realized the link in the original post I gave does not work. Here is the new link. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/decor/msg071721106786.html The link here has a diagram of the powder room. That space is about 31"w x 24"d, the vanity is 30.5 w x 19" d, the rest of room is 64 x 59 Beth, you are right, it's a repurposed dresser/cabinet! I just sanded and painted. My original plan was to get a granite top, but I got lazy, so i kept the top instead, and hoping i can get away with multiple coats of polyurethane. Snookum2, by "dramatic color application", do you mean paint the mirror wall some dark rich color, like crimson red or something? Chickadee2, I am thinking of sconce too. The space is 31" wide, not sure if it will be too crowded. Annie, do you have a picture of art glass pendant you have in mind? Awm03, only $35 at your local store? I am amazed at the price difference! Boobadaboo, you have a pretty powder room now! Why the second towel ring? It seems we have a similar kind of PR, no window, towel bar at the same place. As for hideous PR, mine was just as bad. I had chrome faucet ,towel bar and toilet paper ring, but GOLD lighting fixture! What's worse? I didn't even notice that until much later:-( I think is says as much about my eyes as it does about builder's sloppy work:-( :-( Fmnrobert, you have a really nice PR! The pendant lighting is really really good idea for a narrow place!!! Here is a link that might be useful: Old powder room...See MoreWhere did you find your tv console?
Comments (16)Believe it or not, we ended up getting a real wood stand from Ikea after months of looking at much more expensive ones. It's an extremely transitional piece, with plenty of detailing to suit our 1920's house, while still possessing the clean, modern lines my husband loves. We bought two bookcases to match, and have been stunned at the quality (I have a ridiculous amount of very heavy books, and the shelves aren't warping at all). The Hemnes living room line is new this year, and much high quality than anything else at Ikea. Other than that, I recommend Costco. If you can find a large Costco with lots of furniture, you will have several high-quality choices. Here is a link that might be useful: Hemnes Televisions Stand...See More- 2 years ago
