what to do with space above tv
Comments (45)Looks like your sofa is going to stay where it is, unless you can face it towards the sliding door. There needs to be enough room to walk beside it, of course. If it's staying where it is, I'd rearrange some of your wall art and mirrors. I like the Gumby but not in that space. I suggest using the art that you have in the hallway area, above the sofa. Then move the mirror from above the fireplace and place it near the sliding door above the end table. You can see in your photo that the wall where the end table is, is the brightest wall in your photo. Having a mirror there will reflect the light into the house, and from some angles you'll have a nice view of the outdoors. I have a mirror in exactly the same place in my house, and it really does reflect light into the rest of the room. Where you have a mirror now, above the fireplace, it doesn't reflect light because it's a dark interior wall. I'd put the Gumby near the entrance to the house, near your front door. Can you show us the wall where the stroller is parked? It creates a nice impression to see a bright, fun piece of art as the first thing you see when you enter a house....See MoreCan I add more boho without adding more clutter? Living room re-do
Comments (34)I’m laughing at the thought of my squishy, comfy pillows being called forbidding or them fighting with anyone. I took a couple of more pictures, including the chairs without the pillows and I think you’ll agree that the cushions make them look more inviting, not less. Also rearranged so that people can see that the sofa facing the fireplace, chair at each side will not work in the space. I tried it as the most obvious answer and discarded it. It’s awkward to me, like the sofa is turning it’s back on everyone. Also, due to the placement of the fireplace, the sofa and chairs cannot be centered on the fireplace or the bedroom will be blocked completely. I can’t pull the sofa back much more without blocking the walkway. The fact is, space for the ‘living room” is much smaller than you think. I also pulled the rug away, to demonstrate that the rug and sofa not going together is kind of the least of this room’s problems. I wish I could get a good angle that shows just how off center the couch and chairs are....See More65” or 75” TV above fireplace
Comments (14)I've had my tv over my fireplace for over 5 years and absolutely love it there. Nothing like having a nice fire while binging on Netflix. For your space, I'd go with the bigger tv. There's room for it without the space looking crowded. One thing, consider installing a fireplace mantle below tv. A mantle will protect your tv from the heat of the fireplace. You don't need a deep mantle depending on the setup of your tv and wall bracket. A tv exposed to that kind of heat will not last....See MoreI need help changing up our living room/tv wall!
Comments (163)I’m still working on my room! I took a break for a while because I couldn’t find anything I liked. I did find this plant shelving thing that I like. My question is? Does it look ok with my picture or should I find something similar to put there? I just put some plants I have up there for now. I like the black one. I’m just thinking it’s not matching. Thanks in advance ☺️...See Moreacm
