Hey Pat, yep, these things produce an amazing number of babies and I am glad I have now been able to share them with others.....nice to pass things along like that!! I have allowed all of mine to be dormant for the past 3 months first because of an extended vacation and then because I had no space......I'm hoping I can wake them up again around Jan when other things are going dormant....all of my South African imports that were Hemisphere confused this summer need more time to grow so space is at a real premium!! Maria, I need to ship more of this fellas offsets and some more H. striatum to a lady in Canada for a few IOU Trillium next summer when they go dormant.....I can likley find more of the baby offsets in another pot for you (they can be a pain to get started though, but with patience they do fine) and maybe a couple of H. striatum if you have anything that will go in my yard....I traded the rest of them for things like Peonies, Lilies, Daffodils, etc. so I'm just looking for something that will go in the ground and be left alone......zone 6 is a must though!!! I also need to dig up some more Typhonium venosum so can offer a few of the offsets of those, maybe a Remusatia vivipara (an Elepahnt Ear from India), I might have another Curcuma zeodoria (spelling may be wrong) to ship out once I dig them up this coming weekend......just tired of the digging up thing as you can see!! kboehm/Kristi....... ......A gent named Scott Squire handled my order, and any special instructions I had, regarding bulb preferences, etc. He included my wants along with my order, so that the packers knew what I needed. I just e-mailed, and Blooming Bulbs got back to me via e-mail(Scott), and acknowledged my instructions would be sent to the warehouse. The bulb I just got is 6" plus in diameter and height, not including the neck,.... which is about 3" in diameter, where the leaves were cut off, and a 2" rise above the round portion of the bulb. I also think that the bulb is growing an off-set, because there is a bump under the outside layer/scales of the bulb. It gets planted tomorrow in a new, very big, pot. Now, a phone call to Leo Berbee on Monday, for "ROYAL VELVET" and "BOUQUET", will complete my "bulb-jones" for this season. The "Obama-Depression" has cut into my spending.

Are these the ones you got from South Wind last year? If so, they are looking great. I really like Coral Cay. I looked it up on Tinkers & they classify it as a coral rose. I bought one that has that color description & really happy I did.

Hey Carol, I took that picture of Charles de Gaule late in the evening with the camera set at high ISO. Although the color was enhanced a bit in that picture it is a nice dark purple. It gets full sun all day long, like all my rose bushes. It's the first year bare root from Palatine, I have two, both are healthy and love to rebloom. Here is a picture in full sun with my phone, Blue girl is in the imediate background and you can see it's much darker.
