I'd say the leather chair is less Woody Allen, and more Steve McQueen, who would be sexy in any movie with Sophia Loren. (Woody Allen is more of a half-moon-arm art deco leather chair) Like clothing, you don't have to have all your furniture be matchy-matchy any more. The visual weight and slim arms of the leather chair and couch are enough of a match that the pieces should work well together. The colors are neutral, so I don't expect there will be a whole lot of clashing going on in your room to begin with. This subtle difference should shine.

I've linked to a Pottery Barn measuring guide for sofas. The key measurement seems to be the diagonal measurement--this is the first time I've seen that and it makes sense. That would give you something to work with when shopping for another sofa. Also, make sure you have the measurements of the sofa that didn't fit, because you know anything that size or larger won't work. Some manufacturers make sofas that can come apart and be reassembled in your house. The Pottery Barn sofa you like also comes in a sectional. Would getting two pieces of the sectional collection work? I'm probably restating the obvious here, but you never know . . . . If they can get the sofa to the vertical, good movers can usually get a sofa that is taller than the door is wide into a space. You can take off the door to add an inch or two more room. Some people go so far as to remove the trim around the doorway to gain a tad more space. In 2002, Mr. Stair sold a set of eight George III-style carved mahogany chairs for $8,000; in 2016, he sold a similar set of eight chairs for $350. In 2003, he dispatched a Regency breakfront bookcase for $9,500; in 2016, the sales price of an equivalent piece had plummeted to $1,300. ... love love our maiden home thompson bed and jones sectional. i did more reaearch then i care to admit befor buying and think quality and design wise its a few notches above. joybird, article, burrow are not really comparable - they are closer to the ikea end of the spectrum. i think of my maiden home stuff as rh level design but far better quality (made in north carolina) and a much more reasonable price. hope that helps!
