Stately house. A light gray with white would also work. But I like the current color. You could go shades lighter, too.

I would open the porch area by removing the bushes and doing a perennial garden.

I wouldn’t touch the brick it’s beautiful. But changing the color of the portico and posts could really enhance and update. Maybe change front door color too so all ties together. I’m thinking a grey/green could be beautiful.

What is your goal here? Are you prepping it for sale or are you the new owner? White is classic and timeless, but you could go with ivory or cream which might be a softer approach with older brick. A overhaul of the landscaping would do a lot to bring it into the current era. Could the brick use a cleaning or re-pointing? Is the walk freshly wet or does it need a pressure washing? If you redo the landscaping, consider a new walkway that is more welcoming and at least as wide as the front door plus sidelights. Do your outdoor lights need upgrading? Can't really see what you have, but lights flanking the door should be 1/3 its height. Is there a hanging lantern? It is too small to be appreciated.

I love the brick. Brick is timeless. The portico could be painted, but, the biggest change to update it would be to redo the landscaping. Too many little round balls of shrubbery, is what makes it look outdated. The front door, could also use a nice bright color (maybe your favorite color?) I would pick a nice brighter aqua, or teal, or turquoise for the door. If there is room on on each side of the door, some pots of bright colored flowers would look nice too.

DO NOT PAINT the brik IMO the fastest way to devalue that house would be painting the brick I love the grayed green color with brick and IMO if everything that is white now was that color the change would be quite dramatic The style of the house is what it is so don't try to make it spmething else it is a staely home not some 2022 modern home .I agree th walkway needs to be much grander and the lanscaping needs a bit of work I loike some really nice foundation plantings with a mix of plants to add some color all year.Once you widen the walkway I would remove the shrubs on either side near the entry and add large black planter filled with seaonal plants

That was my first thought -- why would you want to paint brick? I get it if it's some butt-ugly brick, but your home is beautiful. Paint the trim/portico if you must paint -- leave that gorgeous brick alone.

I, too, hate painted brick. I don't care how much people say paint has come a long way blah blah blah. I had a painted brick house. It was that way when I bought it and was originally pink so yea I get that (the paint eventually flaked off in spots, which is why I knew it was pink), but painting brick takes something that is virtually NO MAINTENANCE and makes it look fake and makes it need fixing every so often. Paint peels and flakes -- at least up here in the north with constant freeze/thaw cycles. Just no.
