Pure White

Wool skein ceilings in flat and wool skein satin on walls. Had it in my last house. ❤️ it.

6491 Open Air. It's a soft blue that will work well with the Wool Skein and then do white moldings.

I would go with a nice brighter flat white paint.

I'm a personal fan of using color on the 5th wall. Here's a few examples from my house. Obviously not your colors.

No the bedroom photo is a 10' ceiling and the stairwell is 9'.

It will still work in a house with 8' ceilings but in that case I'd choose a lighter color for the ceiling.

Thanks for responding. We are converting a 2 car garage into a library and I thought about doing this in there.

My choice would be white also. I always paint the inside of closets white. That way the room itself can be painted over and over and you don't have to do the closet. Also white reflects the light in the closet.

A library would be a great place to try it and in a library depending on the bookshelves you might be able to get away with a darker ceiling color. Here is my DH's office with dark oak cabinets. I painted the ceiling a darker shade than the walls.
