Etsy is a great place for pillows and pillow covers. Just put in specific search terms — colors, subject, patterns, sizes, materials — and tons come up. I would start by pulling colors from the rug you’ll be getting.

I would remove the mirror on the mantle (because all it's reflecting is your ceiling fan!) and try some bold color art there. take off the candle sticks, and everything else, except maybe one of the plants. it's too crowded.

you need a print that is more horizontal, but I like this color and it's so much better than that mirror

the cooler blue tones look great w/the brick.

if you want warmer tones, try golds/oranges, a natural compliment to blue.

for the raised hearth, try getting a woven basket (it's nice texture and brings in some warmth,) with some soft throws, or even cut logs

consider organizing your shelves like this. you have too many small items/photos, and it tends to look cluttered.

What does your husband have to say about the office? Does he like any of the colors/elements you have in there? If that's the new rug your getting in pic 3, that's the best source for your new colorway. Why not remove the mirror from the mantel since it only reflects the ceiling fan, and try your colorful painting in its place? See how he reacts to that injection of color. To continue in that vein, clear out the cabinet to the right, paint some luan or wallpaper some foam core cut to fit the backs of the shelves. Do you have any of that wallpaper from the office left over? Style the shelves with 1/3 books, 1/3 large decor items and 1/3 open space. Limit photos to a couple and not on the same shelf level. Put foot stands on the the smaller ones and set them on table tops, buffets, dressers or side tables throughout the house. Have you ever considered painting the fireplace satin black? Gray is so past its expiration date, IMO, and is not helping the beige sectional fit in. Every room can use some black.

I was going to suggest the same as Beth. First find a colourful piece of art for above fireplace, and then let the art inspire your pillow colours/choices.

You can also have pillow cases made for you...choose fabric at any store or website that sells by the yard fabric and choose the pillow size that you want and voila! pillows just for you. I have done this for years; often you buy quality fabric at very low prices if you choose from remnants

which all fabric stores sell.

Your couch is great background for colorful pillows in oranges, blues, and greens. Your rug is so beautiful, if you can replace it with a round glass coffee table, much more of the rug would show through.

Other possible ways to add color:

Your room has an earthy, cozy feel so orange/rust may work well, while still providing a jolt of color. If adding a rug and/or art, I’d start with them, as cushions will be much easier to find.
