Timers are not difficult to swap.ÃÂ Physically open the panel, loosen the timer, pull the wires, connect the wires to the new timer, mount it, close up the panel. Wires should be a one-to-one swap unless the replacement timer is a substitution for the original and has some differences ... but there's usually an instruction sheet in that case. I don't find the model you cited but I do find DDE8200RCM (WH is probably a color code, so not understanding why it won't search). There are three different timers listed. Don't know how to determine which is correct. Prices at one source I use are $88, $173, & $104. If your repairman cited a specific Part Number, search it online for sources & prices.

Ok, I followed through with the suggestions of thoroughly cleaning out the lint area and the vent hose. Disconnected the hose from the dryer, cleaned out what was there, stuck my hand in the opening in the wall and pulled out some more lint. There wasn't a ton of stuff there. The dryer is still not working any better. What now? I googled the problem and found an excerpt from some guy who had professionals pull out huge amounts of lint from the entire duct system, like 20-30 feet of ducting. Is this common? If so, how do I find a company to do that? Would it be one of those air duct cleaner companies? This is getting frustrating- I don't want to buy a new dryer if the problem is lint further down the duct...TIA

I have had cfl bulbs in all my bathrooms for years with no problems. What you need to do is get rid of the dimmer switch which probably is the source of the buzzing. dimmer switches do not work with the compact florescent bulbs unless they are specified for use with a dimmer. these type are hard to find though. The electronics in these type of bulbs are sealed and work fine in a humid environment. I have also had them in outside fixtures that are open on the bottom and they have been out there for a couple of years and they still function fine. Plus they also work fine during the winter when it gets down around zero. They just take longer to warm up and they are not the outdoor cfl's The electronics in these bulbs are sealed enough for the use in the slightly humid environment of a bathroom. the one bathroom we use them in presently has no bath fan and does get very humid and the bulbs in use have been in there for at least 2 years and not one of them has burnt out yet. Go ahead and use them AFTER removing the dimmer switch.
