Can things be arranged so the TV is not over the fireplace? It's up too high for comfortable viewing, and throws everything else off visually.

Unfortunately, there really isn’t another place for it to go with the Bay windows there. I think it will have to stay there. We may eventually redo the fireplace and mantle but right now, it’s not an option. Is there no salvaging the situation of the TV?

Adding more pictures

A mirror is good if you have a great reflection, or if this room needs more light. If you go with a print, go with one large one - makes more of an impact than a bunch of small pictures. Look for a local artist or art gallery. Also, local colleges may have their own art gallery. Lastly, try art.com. Buy a print there and have it framed locally - with plexiglass (lighter and safer to hang). There is a huge selection there. Is it possible to move the sectional off the wall and turn it 90 degrees and float it with one section parallel with the windows. Then you could put the TV on the big wall with a console or built-ins.

Do a "salon style" wall which is a little more free form and you don't have to worry so much about having everything match.

When considering what to place on wall remember it will influence other choices and how room will feel.

Could move the rug and sectional away from the wall a bit, adding a sofa table, art and importantly, a lamp. Room is small and this wouldn’t overwhelm vs large art.

As you settle and continue to decorate, thought you might be interested in adding a bench by the window. Try moving the large plant from foyer (feels cramped) by window.

The hall piece is what you see as you enter so try simple, nicely balanced accessories and suggest a lamp.

If you want to create more of a focal wall and take attention away from TV, you could add floating shelves and keep them simple.

I would move the couch a little further from the fireplace, as the couch/coffee table combo looks very crowded. That would also give you room for an end table in the corner. Even 6 in would make a lot of difference here. Then try to get a large poster or painting that you like, to be centered over the wall portion of the couch. Aim for 50-75% the width of that portion of the couch. You can a couple of smaller ones, but that will always have less impact.
