Ok. So I have moved the sofas acros from one another the chair to the left corner and the sofa table behind it. It does not look bad! We are going to look for a new TV soon. Slateberry: My husband is not a non-feeling guy. He just gets a little attached to items and he is putting me through some very expensive schooling right and we are not taking out any loans and we qualify for zero aide. So while we are not poor by any means. My tuition comes directly from our family finances and we are the type of family that does not take on any debt or finance anything or take money from savings. We also have two children in private school ;) So he's just responsible and attached to big bertha the giant tube as I like to call her. She was also our first purchase as a married couple. He is sentimental. What can I say. ;) The man still has the first letter I wrote him in High school!!! Ha! How bad is it that in this entire ordeal I decided I wanted brown diamond print slipcovers for fall? Is that bad??? You guys are so great! As I said in my other thread. I am hours away from My parents and don't have anyone to bounce anything off of and I really appreciate all of your help. I get a little melancholy and bored and move furniture around and hate it and then don't know what to do or who to ask. So I really appreciate it all more than you know!

Nothing in picture is staying. All items are from other house and are just there until I decide what to do with room, what can be reused and what really must go. Ceiling in room is near 25feet. Lighting other than lamps will come later. Large art is a must. DH says that will come after the furniture. We have been getting ideas as there are also walls in the entry and stairway that need large art. I kinda like the idea of the curved sofa. Not sure if it facing the big wall will work. It may make room look too skinny. We actually did consider flipping the room at one point but decided to keep it the way it is. The room seems long and skinny but the width is actually decent. I think the real problem is that the windows in corner of the front of the room. It makes one want to either be in the area by the windows or be in the area where sofa is. We tried to overlap the sofa on the window and it looked like we were overlapping into that space. I agree that those sitting on sofa in the current layout feel on display as it is first thing you see when coming down the stairs or coming in the house. At one time I thought maybe doing a loveseat a few feet from arch with a sofa table behind it. DH was not too sure about that. I think he felt it chopped up the flow of the two rooms and when sitting on loveseat your back would be to the diningroom and anyone coming from there and the kitchen beyond. I am really into Feng Shui. Flow is important to me. I am just not sure how to achieve it in this room. Here are other views of room from a while ago- note other paint colors. Hi Samantha! This looks like a very nice home. Congratulations! Does this sit on a basement, or is there more here that we can't see? What's the total sq. ft.? 15x15 is a nice sized LR. I'm terrible at reading floor plans, so please tell me if I'm understanding you correctly. The TV is going on the wall that backs up to the bathroom and foyer. Are you getting the optional windows on either side of the fireplace? Then, as I understand it, you want the sectional to be in front of the windows that overlook the courtyard, with the shorter section extending out between the dining room and kitchen areas. Is that correct? One thing to be aware of is how much room you will need when the reclining parts are fully reclined. On the long section in front of the window, will there be anything to the right of it, like a floor lamp or end table? A coffee table in front of either section? An end table next to the shorter section? Besides the accent chair and possible aforementioned tables/lamps, will there be any other furniture in the LR? What is the main purpose of the sectional sofa? TV viewing? Conversation area? How many people are you hoping to seat in each section? I think the main concern would be to leave ample room behind the short end between the sofa fully reclined and the kitchen/dining area. If you have people over to watch a football game, for example, you'd likely be going back and forth with food and drink, and if you have to "squeeze by" every time, that will get old really fast. A secondary concern, from a design standpoint, would be to ensure the sofa isn't so huge that it completely dominates the room, stealing the focus from the lovely fireplace and the views out the windows. I think if you can answer those questions it will be easier for you to decide upon the best size for the sectional. I hope this helps! :-)

I'm going to join in on the "warming" trend. Do you actually work from home? There is a difference from actually WORKING and working. If your work depends on it, then the room needs to be productive and comfortable. If it's not a full time job, then you have more options based on your preferences. It looks like a nice sized space. If you are going to be doing Zoom meetings or anything where the wall behind you is in view, consider the color and decor for THAT wall to be especially important. Maybe a focal color as a good backdrop to shelves, artwork, or credentials. Where did you get the sofa? I really like it and it looks to be about the right size and color for MY home office, lol so anything you can tell me about it would be appreciated!
