Art work over mantle - help please
Comments (18)Too high, too small ; I agree with all of the above. Above the mantle is prime space/location, you shouldn't have to merchandise around the picture to make it look right. I disagree with adding more matting, possibly you should look for a print that can be framed with all of the image showing, this particular print looks like the matting is hiding some of the picture by cutting off parts of the trees, not too effective, imo. The colors do work in your room, the red is great....See Moreideas for art work on this wall?
Comments (13)IMO you buy art because you love it not because it “goes “ with the decor. I think one of the giant floral wallpapers would be great on that wall. Comments (25)the scale of living room wall where the fireplace is sits on is 26' of space next to 12'ft wide open concept dining area whihc include anther 10 foot of tall windows, followed by 15 open concept kitchen on the other side of the dining room. the area designated to the fireplace sits to the left of 2-6'4 x3' picture windows and the right of another 6'4"x3' then a 2' wall followed by 10' width of picture windows in the dining room. It is a very wide open area. So the fireplace shouldnt dwarf the width, but you are right I will need to make the scale the pictured fireplace shorterby 2'ft in heigth since by ceiling height is only 10'. I reach out to my builder. Thank you for clearing up that saved me a bunch of heart ache.Thank you Roy and Gillian!!...See MoreIdeas to improve staircase wall with decor/art work
Comments (8)Hi. Design needs to happen in a logical order. So, I recommend prior to decorating that wall, you 1) Create a good floor plan. This one is not the best. I can help you with that if you tell me what the function of this space is and if there is a tv in the room. Finally, is this furniture staying in the room? Please post a photo of all 4 walls of the room, Thanks. 2) Find photos of rooms you like. What design/style do you like? Once you have those, we can then think about decorating the wall....See MoreRelated Professionals
