Looking for budget kitchen remodel for news story
Comments (0)Hi! I'm a fan of the GW forums and this one in particular. I am also a freelance journalist working on a story about budget kitchen remodels. Are any of you who are done with your remodels located in the Dallas Texas area? Would you be willing to share your tips and have photos taken of your place? Let me know if you are! Email is covert.eATgmail.com. (Replace the AT with an @ symbol.) Thanks! Here is a link that might be useful: Hands On Blog (work examples here)...See Morebudget kitchen remodel, just started, pics
Comments (6)Hi Scrapinsal -- Boy, I wish we had your "before" kitchen -- you've got a lot to work with there! Quick thoughts.... * I'm not a huge fan of glazed cabs, and as you say the color's not bad at all. I'd do a very thorough cleaning of the exteriors (check with wood experts on what to use) and def change out the hardware. I'd think black would play up your appliances and granite. * It was ages ago, but maybe there's an old-timer around here who remembers a fairly modern kitchen that had lighter cabs with black crown? It was stunning, and I think something like that could look great in your kitchen too. * I'm pro black painted cabs in the serving area, but then I have a mix of finishes in my small (also budget!) kitchen. Good luck -- looks like you're on the right path to me!...See MoreIdeas for budget kitchen remodel?
Comments (46)The costs depends where you live. In VA, with RTA wood cabinets with soft close approximately $7000 + countertop + install. It's doable. Especially if it's a DIY install. You can always replace appliances later as they break & backsplash could be installed later as well....See MoreLow budget kitchen remodel suggestions
Comments (10)I should have worded my original post a little better. Walls will be painted agreeable gray and cabinets will be painted alabaster. Light fixtures will also be updated regardless. I am exploring the thought of updating the flooring and/or countertops. Mostly looking for ideas and price options to update those two. Trying to see what the cost would be and deciding on if I am able to go ahead and replace both now if it isn’t so expensive or which one to update first with the other being replaced later on (within a year.)...See MoreSally T
