There is a spot on this site that has a bunch of photo's of kitchens, I think it is called Kitchen blogs and you can slideshow threw the kitchens--there are 100's! If you can't find the location, go to the post--"if you are new to GW website" currently on page 1 or 2 of either the main appliance forum or the kitchen forum (I've been bouncing around today) and they have the link in there. Also, if you ever watch 2 1/2 Men on Monday nights--Charlie has 2 tone cabinets-His are different than you describe. The show is basically white on the outside frame and pained in the middle. It's interesting and may be a nice option to tie everything together. Also, last I looked Corian was more expensive than Granite, so don't rule out Granite already.

Even though you have a polished chrome faucet, the cabinet hardware does not have to match it. Your appliances are probably not polished chrome either. Depending on the style of the kitchen, you could go with brushed stainless, satin nickel, or maybe one of the antique or weathered finishes on both types of cabinets. Or find something you like that's similar in style, but different in finish that compliments each color of cabinet. Knowing what style your kitchen is would help for offering suggestions. What works best depends on the layout and the client preference. With current software it isn't unreasonable to expect to can't be shown a decent representation of your choices. Photo-realistic is another story, but a general idea of the relationships should be easy enough unless you're still working with a pencil or 2D CAD. My preference is that it is ok to change modling color at an end of a run but it is always up to the client. First one shows two options of the 4 that the client was shown and a photo of the result. Second is flat molding-again client was shown multiple options to make final choice. Then something we are working on now. Very little of this is actually settled as the client is having difficulty settling on colors. Because of the color issue I did the first image which is more realistic but far more time consuming to produce so not as reasonable to expect (requires a render specific software program that I am just learning-the rendering was done with the gracious help of a professional renderer Rene from Rabbitt Construction). The other images were done within our standard design software but still need work on lighting (backsplash also needs to be resolved)

Do the island in "Repose" : ) The finish will be different than the rest of the house wall color. Or go peppercorn and darker. Otherwise? II think very pale grayed greens can be a bit dangerous. ....: ) I think your wall color repeated on an island in satin finish? Also very nice.
