Drain line from steam oven would be mostly warm water. There may be a bit of food scrap in small pieces. I often see bread crumbs when I run rinsing program on the oven floor. Generally these shouldn't be any harmful for plant. The oven requires descaling every now and then. And that's probably your main consideration where it should drain to. Another point, is that if there is no odor trap, would there be any crawlies trying to get into your oven?

I believe your information is a bit wrongly interpreted, NFT. Miele has two reservoirs for non-plumbed model: fresh water and waste water. If I am not mistaken, combi steam oven from other makers do not even have waste reservoir. Miele has a drain outlet at the bottom of the oven connected to a pump. For non-plumbed model, waste water drawn through the outlet is pumped to the waste reservoir; for plumbed model, waste goes out the drain line. There will always be just a little bit of water left in the fresh water reservoir. There is no harm in leaving some amount there, IMO. I, however, do empty the fresh water reservoir every few days and wipe it dry. Here are some photos of my plumbed combi. The space for waste reservoir is blocked out on the left hand side with a plastic fascia. The water level is at after a rinse program, just tiny bit left. A pump would suck out as much as possible water from the reservoir during rinsing. For this simple design, the tube has about 1mm opening, and a pump cannot suck out water below that level. So, you don't have to worry about waste water and smell if you go for plumbed model, NFT.

My Miele SO allows you to set the micro timer up to 10 mins per operation. That should be sufficient for most needs. I had a very intermittent issue with the micro function. (3 times in 16 months). It only happened to me once in month 16 where I saw the error message the other two times my daughter was using it. The error resulted in the oven restarting and all was good so not a show stopper as far as function. I called MIele and asked what the error was. They told me it was an expensive repair and since was I "slightly" out of warranty (1 year - did not purchase the 5) they would repair it free as a one time goodwill which they did. I was very pleased at the service. I use the oven almost daily as a small oven and it works as well as my combi steam in the non steam modes. It is a great small oven.

Hi Grace, I love my Poggenpohl kitchen!! I worked with Ellen Mclean at the 23rd street showroom i NYC and she was amazing. The design and craftmanship are outstanding.The kitchen both looks great and functions really well. I have the Segmento model with integrated refrigerator and dishwasher which I recommend.I have the Miele combi steam oven and the 30 inch convection. Both fantastic. I have the Master chef oven that has the rotisserie capability and have used that often. The auto roast function is well worth the oven-have made perfect roasts.I have gone to some cooking classes at the Miele Exoerience center and they are so helpful with information and recipes. I am so happy I went with the Miele appliances. I have the 36" wolf contemporary cooktop which is flush with counter- looks good in my kitchen island. If I can, I will post some photos.
