Would you change these pendants?

Hi! I have simple pendant lights over my island and am considering a change, any suggestions? Current light over adjoining kitchen table shown in 1st pic below, the new lights would need to compliment this drum light.

Well, I would consider trying to change things about myself to a certain extent. I agree with what some of the other posters said. To maintain a healthy, long term relationship with someone, change is often necessary-change in behavior in certain areas as somebody said. And many people try to improve themselves in life anyway. But I would not try to change my basic character or personality. And the part of the sentence that says "for someone not willing to change" is a huge red flag to me. I wouldn't try to change myself ONLY to hang on to someone that was not willing to change or improve himself.

We're installing an OTR microwave in our new kitchen, I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea...but our kitchen design and layout posed a lot of issues and it seems to be the best option. What we are planning on doing is mounting the MW a little higher than the standard. This only works for those who arent vertically challanged :) All members, including my 12 year old son are above 5'5 (yikes). Not to mention my DH is also our cabinetmaker.. so we were able to make adjustments as needed to cabinet heights etc... I have come to terms with the location, as there arent many alternative places in our kitchen to put the MW that would be asthetically pleasing AND functional. I think your kitchen is very pretty - and IMHO, the OTR MW doesnt make or break it.. ~ D ~

the kitchen will look nice painted. if doing a back splash, have them pull off that 4" piece up the back. I like the copper strip. finding a better one to take it's place could be rather expensive. are you up for that? if not, I'd say just leave what you have. Or, see if you could veneer some tongue and groove wood strips around the stainless and paint it the same as cabs. or, do some panels w/simple trim work and paint you could also do a faux paint treatment to give it an aged copper look if changing your hardware, make sure the holes are properly filled before painting. (just the drawers)

Are they giving you enough light on the island? If they are leave them. If not, maybe just bigger ones.

To be honest, pendants here seem kind of strange, as it is not a large island, this makes it tough to get them just right. I personally would not have pendants at all, or one in the center a bit larger.

Here I would opt to change these to something a bit more dynamic if they must stay, I wouldn't worry too much about the drum shade as it is pretty neutral and about anything can be used with it. Im loving this kichler pendant
