Yeah, I never really saw the appeal of Austin. He was a great player too, but most of the time I didn't find his antics that funny. Quirky for sure. Buzzy was ok. I was trying to remember the name of the champion who was always so serious looking and hardly ever smiled. Finally someone must have mentioned it because at the beginning of the program he'd put on this really fake smile for the camera. He was in the recent million dollar championship game.

No, James didn't plan to leave, and the card wasn't a "thank you, and goodbye" gesture. They tape 5 episodes in a day, two days a week. Some reports say they tape two days every other week, other reports say they tape two days each week for a set number of weeks before taking a hiatus. Reports consistently say there are a total of 46 taping days each year (for the past 30 years). James was on for 32 games, which would be, at most, 8 taping days (that would work out to be his first show was the 5th show taped on day 2 of that week's taping; then 30 shows over two days the next 3 taping weeks; then the 1st show taped on the first day of taping his final week of taping. I've seen things that say his first taping day was February 5th, and last night's show was taped on March 12th. Alex announced his cancer diagnosis on March 6th, so James gave him the card that his daughter had made less than one week later - on the first day of taping following the announcement.

I'm fine with Mike Richards. Before Alex Trebek began hosting Jeopardy! he had hosted several other game shows, like High Rollers, Classic Concentration, and To Tell the Truth. Mike's resume isn't much different. I wish I had seen that! My mother always watched Wheel, and I enjoyed watching it with her. The game show that my brother and I watch most (besides vintage Match Game from the 1970s) is America Says. Since my brother Kevin works for Sony Pictures, we are disqualified to be on any show that Sony produces, including Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and America Says 😞 Kevin did audition for the employee version of Jeopardy, and he got pretty far, but just missed getting into the finals.

Did I say why? I did not. Okay, I give. Ken swore. Johnny Gilbert wore a hoodie instead of a baseball jacket. There was a category called "Houzz" and Amy kept calling it "Garden Web", another contestant called it iVillage, and the third was Spike and sent everyone to the teacups.

I caught the end of it. I turn the tube on for the nightly news and usually catch final jeopardy.

I watched it! And right before the final reveal, our local TV station went to commercial and didn't return to Jeopardy. WTH????? Anyway, I looked around online and saw the outcome. Boo. Edited to say, yes she did have an excellent streak and I look forward to seeing her again on the Tournament of Champions.

I record Jeopardy and was a few episodes behind when I saw the title of this thread, so I had to binge it so that I could read the thread!

I would have loved to see an episode with Spike!

While I'm sorry to see Amy go, she had an amazing run, and the show really is more interesting when there's more competition.

I read that she has signed with the talent agency, Creative Artists, so we may see more of her somewhere down the road. She has already given transgender individuals greater visibility, and that can only be a good thing.
