Bed ideas for small bedroom

Hi. I would like some suggestions on where to fit a bed or what type of bed would be best for a small box room which was used as an office but I would like to use it as a guest bedroom for my dad when he stays. I could fit a single along the window wall but then the wardrobes won't open. I could rotate the bed and put it against the middle wall where the ironing board currently is (ignore the mess) but due to this slab/ledge a bed won't fit. Unless I rest the bed on top of the ledge spmehow but I'm struggling to find a bed Without top legs. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Okay so your 2 options are to place a small single sized bed right as you enter so the length is parallel to the closets and you would be required to step on the ledge to go around to the side opposite the windows. 2nd option is what I would do which is to put a single bed on the ledge then place lifts/bed risers under the 2 legs that are off the ledge. You will also have more under bed storage with option 2. And if you can't find the exact height of the ledge in bed risers then just head to your hardware store and buy some wood cut into squares that is the right height. I doubled upon risers in my own home because I wanted to store something large under the bed.

Hi, if you could measure the dimensions with the closet doors open and does the entrance door open inward or outward and where is it located? From what you wrote its hard to say. You could maybe put a single bed with just a box spring underneath up against the ledge and the ledge could serve as a night stand and create a "faux" head board thats just attached to the wall to create more space.

Thanks @jo mu. The entrance door is where I took the pic from and opens inwards. I'll measure it now

I did that in my guest room - no problem at all. The carpet is pretty low pile and the rug is a fairly thick sculpted type oriental. I have no pad under the rug. I also have a very short, dense wool oriental rug on the carpet in my living room. That also works fine. I have all these rugs on carpet because I moved from a house with wood floors to one with more carpet. I hope to get rid of the carpet someday when I feel like moving everything again. So then I will need the rugs and in the meantime I can't stand the plain beige carpet. In another room I have a thick wool runner that covers the width of carpet from the deck door to the wood floor in the dining area. It has no furniture on it that holds it in place so it ripples a bit. I need to find a way to keep it flat.

I think auntthelma means to scooch the bed closer to the sliding door wall in your arrangement where the bed is facing the cabinet. In that arrangement, there is some space to move the whole night stand-bed configuration closer to the sliding door wall.

What are the cubes for? Is your closet a reach in or walk in what are you using the shelf for ?IMO the best is to have as few pieces as possible in small room so anything that can go into the closet should go there and anything that sicks out from the wall should be gone unless absolutely necessary .I think as far a s bed placement you don’t have much choice

@jo mu so the wall is 220cm and if I open the wardrobe door there's around 177cm. The other wall is 195cm in total and 158cm if we exclude the ledge.

I would stick with a bed frame that is low to avoid making the bed too high

We have a guest room office. I had a custom cover made in a heavy navy twill for the twin trundle bed that reached the floor. In the same fabric, zipper pillow covers for two wedge bolster pillows that side by side are the length of the bed and make a backrest. Then two square accent pillows. For guests, I just remove all the pillows and the bedcover. Replace with a quilt and bed pillows. You can also buy twin daybeds. But I already owned the twin trundle bed.

Just build a platform for the bed that utilizes that shelf as support for one end.
