Kitchen floor and cabinet color dilemma
Comments (21)I honestly don't think that the less red door looks very good with the flooring it is next to in the second photo. It's hard to tell, but is the flooring in the second photo the second from the bottom in the first photo? If so, you could try pairing the less red cabinet color with the very bottom choice from the first photo (the darkest one) to see if (1) the undertones look good together and (2) there is enough contrast. Try putting them next to each other and posting it here so we can see. Even if the combination works, however, you will have an overall very dark look so I would do everything I could to lighten up the rest of the space (choosing a lighter counter than the sample you posted above, a very light backsplash, and very light wall color). If your only objection to white cabinets is wear and tear with kids, I think you would be pleasantly surprised how well factory finished paint holds up. Perhaps reconsider the white, which would look amazing with dark floors....See MoreKitchen Cabinet hardware dilemma, please help!!
Comments (84)Seileen. Your tuquoise tile is main eyecatcher in your kitchen. Next is your range hood. That hood appears out of code to my eye. It is too low over burners. Typical is 30-36 from top of burners to bottom if hood. I am short but I think even I would hit my head on it. It is really big. So that is second big focal point. Third is your shelves and styling of items on the shelves. I do like the first knob and slim pull on your doors and drawers. Those are like jewelry in your colorful outfit. It is very pretty but a few tweaks will make it really amazing....See Morekitchen cabinet paint color dilemma
Comments (6)I just finished installing two all black kitchens and all I can say is be prepared to see EVERYTHING! Any imperfections in the paint will be highlighted once you turn on the recessed lighting. One kitchen was custom cabinetry and the other was an import - expect maintenance either way you go. I also just finished an all white kitchen - again, custom cabinets, and when I could I had extended stiles to keep vertical seams to a minimum. However, same complaints - white shows everything! Another fabulous kitchen that I did this past summer was complete custom with a lot of structural details, straight in-set in Alabaster with an Alder stained island - my personal favorite....See MoreKitchen Cabinet Makeover/Design Dilemma! Comments (41)well, you could always remove the chair rail. but yes, if you paint the walls, you'll have to pick the same color to carry out through those adjoining halls I think Pale Oak, , Smoke Embers, Nimbus, or Light pewter would all be lovely in your space. I'd also hang a nice piece of art here to tie in the pale aqua chairs, maybe to some pillows on the sofa w/those colors. the fireplace/mantle is way too traditional looking. I'd remove everything. if you want more Boho, try some zellige tile on the surround I love this selection^ or a cement tile with natural wood mantle or, do more of a modern surround w/a marble tile at the very least, do a diff surround w/out the fluting...See Morejck910
