I like your window view! And style! What would you think about a new rug in the dining room…maybe a bit darker or richer? In the picture, it feels like the table is almost floating. And an eye drawing decorative item on the table?

What is the material inside the cubby floating buffet? You might replicate that in chairs or their seats. I agree about a new rug and something natural and sculptural for the table top. Perhaps a found item from your locale which appears to be high desert perhaps?

Thanks for these ideas! Yes, we are in the high desert, good catch! For the rug, I could try something with more color and I will also try to find something for the table top. I'd like to bring in some color, so maybe I will try some kind of ceramic piece. The material inside the floating cubby is rattan, and since we have cats, we're a bit hesitant to have rattan chairs since we once did and the cats thought they were scratching pads, lol! My husband isn't that fond of the table, although I like it. Any opinion on whether that's an issue for us?

Your room is lovely, it just feels unfinished. You need curtains. Even if you never close them they will frame that HUGE door/window and give you the softness and completeness your room is waiting for..

Maybe crazy idea, but how about painting table frame same orange from your bar chairs? Also i would change light above, to something larger, like wood bead design? I think it will look great!

I agree, curtains might help though I think for me what stands out are all of the linear shapes. You have a lot of hard squares and rectangles and not many softer shapes to balance that out in the dining area. Love your orange wall art, but consider if you can add some round shapes there at all.

If you're considering a new rug, I'd also look at some that are oval.

I love your space just the way it is maybe a bowl of fruit on the table for a splash of color but those chairs are perfect in there

You home is gorgeous, and your taste impeccable. It does not look at all unfinished to me - it looks a little bit on the minimalist side, in a really good way. Every piece is showcased to its best effect, and there's no clutter and no stuff anywhere because you didn't know where else to put it.

We often tend to stop seeing art after it's been in the same place for a long time, so it's a good idea to re-arrange every so often. Might be worth re-arranging art and items on shelves, and, in the process, assessing each piece and whether you still love it. I bet small changes will give you a fresh perspective on your lovely space.
