I agree--same as the rest of the trim. It's a very elegant combo, really. It's hard to pull off white on white and it looks like they did it right.

Is there any other way but then to match the rest of the trim? I guess it could match the ceiling.

An advantage to matching the ceiling is - assuming the ceiling is white and rarely needs painting - you'll be able to paint the walls and not the moulding. Moulding is a lot harder to paint than the ceiling (and ceilings are definitely no fun to paint!) It's nice to be able to change wall color from time to time & not have to repaint the moulding, too.

This is a striking look, believed to be Navajo White walls and White Dove trim. More info will take you to the home so you can see how they've used it in most of the house. You're almost there already. Do you know the specific color of your walls and trim? If you can match the trim color, then go a shade or two darker on the walls and you might arrive at a similar look if you like it. BTW up-size the dining rug so the chairs don't fall off it when sat in. Should be 36-42" larger than the table top.

The previous owner only left us a few cans of paint

which did not match the wall and we had to figure out the wall color which we have now (cut out a block from installing a tv on the wall). Now the color of the trim around the windows and doors is my next dilemma.
