Yes, Penney's installed them and it's included in the price. There was only a choice of real wood or composite. Then you could pick your color (they had many colors including stained) You also pick your louver size. They are made my Norman Shutters. Scroll through their website and there are some beautiful pictures. I wonder if different Penney's use different brands???? I only did the front of my house but that included french doors and that sometimes raises the price a bit. So with my 40% off sale, my total for 14 windows and 2 french doors was $6100 and then I got another 10% off for doing the whole house with them. (wood blinds on the back) So that brought it down to $5490 The French doors have a cutout for the lever that I think looks pretty cool. Here is a link that might be useful: Norman Shutters

Sorry for letting this thread drop, we had to make a bit of an emergency trip out of state. I don't want any of you who responded to think that I just didn't read through your responses. :) I'm not sure why the lined bamboo shades would be so heavy (I've not felt them myself, but the rep said they'd be "ugodly heavy." We have babmoo shades outside and they're surprisingly light. Maybe a different quality of materials is used? I'm really not sure. The existing panels & sheers, once we have a privacy treatment, would stay open - pushed to either side (not swagged). The panels & sheers are on a double rod and I like to have the sheers just barely poking out from behind. No idea why, it's just a look I really like. I'm not deeply in love with either, but it took me a LONG time to find panels in that color that were long enough so I'm not in a hurry to get rid of them. I don't have a great pic showing the windows/current treatments, and never did get one taken before we had to take off. There's just something I like about them paired. This is a very rare picture of them closed. We normally leave them pulled open. The panels aren't quite that dark, nor shiny, in person (and we now have a different rug in there).

Use the same number of panels as the number of windows. Line the stiles up with the mullions. Use an inside mount frame that is typically called a Z frame and do a sill cut on the bottom. This way the frame will sit on the marble sill and the sides and top will overlap the edges giving you a nice finished look. You will see that in this picture also. The tilt rod is made as 2 pieces so that you can open the top and bottom separately. This allows you to open the top for light and leave the bottom closed for privacy. Don't get Hunter Douglas shutters unless you want to over pay. Get that ebook and read it to understand the different types of materials and what is best. If you are somewhat handy you could easily install the shutters for these 2 windows yourself. If you are not handy, say yourself the frustration and have someone else do it. Good luck!

Hi Brittany i’m curious about what you decided on your shutter color i painted my walls with a light gray and used a dark gray trim My rooms are large with high celings so there is plenty of light i am considering having my shutters dipped in a white with a gray understone i’m getting a sample of a shutter in that color next week i’m sticking with white but the color white that I currently have will not work with gray so my shutters will need to change or else I’ll have to go back to white trim Just curious with what you did Thanks!
