I know this is an older thread now but this is frustrating. I have two garage doors with Craftsman 1/2HP 41A5021-2F Red button type. Both are now messed up and will only program one opener. I reset and can program any one of the 4 remotes (only one button) to the door but will not learn anymore. Reset again and i can program another but I CANNOT program more than 1 button of 1 remote to a door. Prior to this i had 4 three button remotes and each door had a key pad entry system. I am now up the creek without a paddle! I have even unplugged the units for hours and still the same behavior!!!

I get confusing information when I check the Liftmaster parts. I find you should be using 81LM rather than 61LM. I do know that Sears still sells the remote for your opener. Their part number is 53778. It may not be available at the retail store but is available at their parts depots. If you are dealing with a Liftmaster dealer they should have the correct info for you.

It depends. There may be a limit... Do these remotes have dip-switches or no dip-switches for programming? If they have dip's you can program in as many as you want. If they are not, you will have a limit on how many can be programmed into the operator. You may need a commercial receiver designed to handle many remotes,Or a remote/receiver set with dip-switches... Dan

I have a problem with both of my remotes. The new garage door motor was installed 3 years ago and we got two remotes. One worked for only a month and the other until recently, but with neither one working it is a problem. The ID numbers are: IC2666A TX2028 Date: 11/05 139.53753 FCC ID: HBW2028 Do you have any suggestions? I thought about trying to replace the battery, but rarely used and not that old, although I would do that, but truthfully I can't figure out how to open the unit. I need all the help you can give me!
